Rev it! shoes worth it?

Hi everyone,

apart from the annoying name, does anybody have experience with rev it shoes? There are some decent offers on 'getgeared' right now, and I like the idea of cross-over shoes -e.g. looks more like a high street shoe than like something the power rangers would wear, but adds abrasion resistance, ankle protection, etc.

Grateful for any advice on the brand / type of shoe

Reeeeaaaally you want proper boots because those shoe style ones don't offer a lot of ankle protection and no lower leg protection. They put a bit more protection in the toe and heel area but from someone who fell off and had the bike squish their foot into the road that's not really where you need it

Anything called "shoes" is rubbish on a bike.

You need something with "boots" in its name

Laces = NO!

They get stuck in your chains and get tangled in foot pegs and brakes...

The idea is that you tie them properly, and then use the strap provided for just that purpose to prevent them from dangling around. I agree that boots offer better protection in general, but if I can get shoes that are reinforced in the right places and wouldn't look out of place around town I'd prefer that.

If you Like em go for it , I wear my jeans sometimes , not as good protection as leathers but I like em .... you got to look and feel good

Its everything but high as far as I can tell, so no lower leg protection above the ankle. But also no laces, its waterproof and still works as a street shoe. Also Alpinestar is a known brand for all its worth AFAIK. Will probably run with this one unless someone voices major concerns about the height.

They look better. More padding in the toe area too so you won't get "biker toe" from changing gear too much.

The brown ones looked very thin over the toe.. like riding in trainers - painful gear changes after a while.

if you angle them right they even help with downforce!

I have! In the summer I took a spin around the block in shorts, flip-flops and t-shirt. Felt great but the S1000 frame gets pretty hot and burnt the inside of my thighs.

Style: In my personal opinion they look horrendous. hmmmm Maybe you would like to consider Alpinestars sm-x 3?

My bike style...I have Alpinestars sm-x 5's and always wear them when out on the bike regardless what I am wearing (leathers or skirt etc)
