rennie Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I still have no idea where I'm going I figure if I turn left off the A14 at some point I'll be close Quote
Rebel Rach Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I'm thinking about heading over for this. Is the plan still to meet at the Wheatsheaf in Edith Weston? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Rebel Rach Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Thanks guys, then I shall see you there on Sat. Might peel off on the ride out at some point and head for home as have a hockey team celebration to go to Sat night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Tango Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I've negotiated with my youngest son to take him back to university on Sunday now, so we should be able to make this......but we've got something on Saturday evening, so we may have to b*gger off straight after the ride...... Quote
JRH Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I still have no idea where I'm going I figure if I turn left off the A14 at some point I'll be close Close enough. A14 A43 A6003 to Manton turn right on Lyndon road then somewhere along there on the leftish. Quote

Hoggs Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 there's an added let's try fix hoggs bike stop now too (before the boozer) Quote
JRH Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Spose you will be coming up on the A1M. Liaise with Tango he can follow and pick up any bits that fall off. I'll mean time look out for Rennie on the A14 Quote
Mawsley Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I still have no idea where I'm going I figure if I turn left off the A14 at some point I'll be close Close enough. A14 A43 A6003 to Manton turn right on Lyndon road then somewhere along there on the leftish. Getting off at the Harborough junction then going up the B664 is prettier and bendier. Albeit longer time wise. Quote

It avoids Corby, voted "Most depressing place to live" (or something like that) this week. That's always a good thing Quote
rennie Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Thanks! I'll just see where I end up/how I'm doing for time, too narrow and twisty is not always good on my bike! Quote
Westbeef Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 This is my route if anyone wanted to meet along the way! I'm leaving my house at 8am and making a McDonald's stop at some place called Tankersley and I'm planning a stop a bit further on too.http://i.imgur.com/U6YcuLM.jpg Quote
rennie Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I will need to fuel up just before the meet!I'm sure we met near there at some point years ago!half of us on 1 car-park the other half on another! Quote
Mawsley Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Thanks! I'll just see where I end up/how I'm doing for time, too narrow and twisty is not always good on my bike! I did the 664 a couple of weeks back with two blokes riding big fat customs - but there is a most spectacular hairpin to be negotiated. The Welland Valley is lovely and worth it tho, far more than the Kettering-Corby corridor. Quote
Westbeef Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I'll need to refill before we head out again too Rennie, I'll have to ask the bar staff for a close one I reckon. Quote
Hoggs Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Right the first part of the route from pub to Loughborough dogs trust should be a smidge over an hour (and if anyone wants the route for sat nav let me know the file type you need and I'll PM it over)REMEMBER YOUR CHALLENGE TAG IF YOU'RE PLAYING! After the dogs trust I imagine a few of you may want to mosey off home so I am looking at the second half of the route to the hotel probably another hour or so on some hopefully nice roads! Quote
Hoggs Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 FUEL!!!There are a couple of places on the way to the pub fill up on the way to the pub before you arrive Quote
Westbeef Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Ok I've planned a stop 10 miles before the meet for petrol .I've set myself a 70 mile stint without a stop, I'm a soft arse I can't normally do more than an hour without one Quote
