That is the same thing my OH said to me, by that night she was in a bed literally surrounded by tarantula's literally door 1ft path to bed all other space is T territory, crickets chirping, roaches scuttling and a room at 80 degree's and humid to hell was not complaining but was a win for me its hot in here ..... take your clothes off (this manoeuvre is copyrighted LOL)

Im not proud of this but I had a high price escort (dont judge i recently lost my family + will to live) she dragged me in the T room and despite warnings OH MY GOD fainted and refunded me LOL

so if i left my front door unlocked you wont rob the place? lol to be fair and dont mind saying it my spares are in the den of my P. rufilata 7" beast crazy female at the end of a 16" bark tube ...where she hides, nothing goes in or out without a bite she will bite literally 40 times in 15 seconds, be paralized from the hand to the elbow in the next few until an hour is up by which if you are extremely lucky and without allergy to a bite your heart wont be paralized. My money kept in a tank with a 14" t.blondi that has over 2" of fang alone slight issue the key to the box is in the other tank.

This is my 3cm H.lividum, its 3cm and has super big brass ones. As tiny as it is look at that threat display to a full adult (me) fangs out and dripping venom, 3cm and took down a mouse 15x larger, i have adults of the lividum 4 males 8 females. though not as bad as my OBT (short for orange bitey thing) and can imagine why they call them that! Sorry i do go on and on about T's mostly i can never stop once i start

I had a phobia of spiders for years but I have always loved tarantulas. They are very cute and furry, a bit like a nice pet rat or hamster. They are nothing like those huge long leggedy hairy greasy grey beasties that live in the dark, murky, webby corners of me garden shed. Those lads really are scary... though I respect them hugely, but tarantulas seem like nice sweet pets to me.

I once searched a tank with a snake in it during a drugs search. I was the only one out of 6 of us who was prepared to do it. It is still the only time I have touched a snake. I did not find any drugs.

As young spiderlings to mid juvi stage they keep this colouration then evolve to a rainbow of colours just as the 1st picture with the fringes, that was not the best image as it just moulted (shed) but they are beautiful. So many nice ones out there and more all the time, this is a tiny fraction of all of them but uploading each one would take about a year.

This is not my picture (as mine rarely come out in light) but I have 20 - odd P. metallica just like this image they are so beautiful and one of the most sought after species by hobbyists.

The drugs were never going to be found - they were clearly all taken by the idiot who allowed a tank to be driven by a snake. Way to compound a situation. It's like putting me in charge of a warehouse containing beer and pizza.

I'm a bit like Reiver, I don't like spiders that have spindly legs and are all lanky. - The ones you find in houses and gardens.

But if they look in proportion I'm alright with them. during the spring/summer my patio becomes a hunting ground for tiny jumping spiders, that I love to watch :-)

I did try to have a tarantula when I was a kid, however mum and dad said no. I ended up with 3 rats, which make fantastic pets too

Nice pets! I'm an entomologist, but do occasionally branch out into arachnids when required.

I remember telling my kids (specifically with reference to spiders) that it is wrong to kill something just because you don't like the look of it, but then John McCririck appeared on the telly and undermined my whole argument.

I went hunting for king baboon spiders during one of my trips to Kenya a few years ago. As I was poking around in the thigh-high vegetation I realised that none of the natives had followed me in, and were all standing out in the open.

"I'm guessing there's a reason you're all standing over there..."

- "Yes. Mamba."

I honestly cant see why people kill spiders not only are they beautiful creatures but also majorly responsible for keeping the human species alive, there was a time deadly to human flies (cant remember the species) who was responsible for numming the majority of them into extinction.... spiders lol. For anyone that has killed a helpless spider I give you this.... anyone know most deadly house spider?
