I have just bought this Tailpack from Sportsbikeshop and for 15 quid it's excellent value. It's a semi rigid construction, 5 litre capacity. It attaches to the bike via straps on the zip on zip off base. Inside is a small net pocket and a padded hold down bar. I'm not sure it's waterproof but I'll give it a spray with waterproofer anyway and I also bought one of those large black shower caps that I use on my small tank bag as a rain cover. Only time will tell how rugged it is, but for now I'm happy with it.

Thanks for this post. By strange coincidence I was looking on that same shop website at this same tail bag tonight! I only have a YBR 125 but need a way to carry my lunch and other stuff to work and I don't want to use a rucksack. Bought my bike secondhand and it has nice GIVI panniers but they are overkill for commuting. I was looking at that exact bag but wasn't sure if I should get it but now after reading your post I will give it a go. Looks perfect for my daily requirements. Thanks :thumb: !

Nice! I like the zip-off base, good feature that. Could make a nice budget tank bag for bikes with plastic tanks... I'd get one for mine if I hadn't already bodged something together

At the moment I'm rocking a waterproof washbag bodged onto the clip straps from a pair of poundshop bum-bags, all held together with a few cable ties... maybe I should upgrade

I went down the washbag route which was ok but you know what it's like, you get the itch to splash out 15 quid sometimes :D

Steady on! You're a Yorkshire man you know

Well actually Stu I'm not a Yorkshireman I just live in Yorkshire. I was born bread and lived the first 39 years of my life in and around East London and Essex.

I'm proud of my background, although I must say I'm not one of those Londoners that moves away from London and then goes on to extol it's virtues. I left because I din't like it any more.

We have a few guys at work who came from London

All they go on about is "when I was back in London..."

My Q Bag arrived today and it is really good for the price. The straps are too long though once it is fixed to my rack. Not sure if I can cut them as they might fray, so I had to tie them up to stop flapping about, but for 15 quid it is a bargain. I just tested it and I managed to bring 6 cans of Newcastle broon ale home from the local beer shop. Good product but I might get a Kriega when I can save up for one as this bag doesn't look very waterproof.

A friend of mine has one and he assured me it was waterproof.

I went for a ride with a couple of mates today as the weather was fine and sunny, however the weather forecasters got it wrong again and we found ourselves in a bit of rain. This wasn't stair rod type rain but it did get heavy for a few minutes and when I got home I had a feel around in the bag and everything was dry, so far so good. I would like to be out in more substantial rain before I give my seal of approval, but it's looking good so far.

Cut the straps and run a flame across the end to stop it fraying :thumb:

PS leave a little so you can fit on another bike in the future

Thank you for the tip Stu, I will get me scissors and matches out tomorrow and sort it out. It is a great wee bag for the price!

When you put a match to it it will melt and maybe set fire be sure to blow it out

Don't touch it till its cooled either as the molten fibres will stick to your fingers and it really burns!! don't ask how I know!

No worries Stu. I have done similar to bits of caving rope that I have needed to cut. I know what you mean about touching it when it is hot and sticking to one's fingers.. that hurts! I just did not think about cutting the straps on this pack but I guess it is a similar material to my caving rope so I will give it a go. Cheers :D
