Crazy Welsh Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 EBay. I can not afford to buy many more parts. Not having a job really sucks . Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Can you take out the starter motor, strip it down ready for cleaning, if unsure use your mobile phone to take photos of each step, clean the inside of the starter motor ,don't use any water , and take the carbon deposit off the armature, I will get you a video off You tube to help you, while your doing that ,just put the battery on charge, also send me a picture of your Multimeter and I can send you some instructions for it Quote
Crazy Welsh Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 http://i.imgur.com/eJkfQ6s.jpgI know how to clean the starter motor so will pull it out and clean it again. Thank you Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Use one of your card nail files to clean the carbon off Quote
Crazy Welsh Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 Use one of your card nail files to clean the carbon off Haha. I do not have those things. Just taking pictures. Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Here's the Instructions http://all-sun.com/manual/Dt830_en.pdf Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Guess you'll have to wash that in soapy water but make sure its dry, don't suppose you've got any carb cleaner? Quote
Crazy Welsh Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 Sadly not. Do have soapy hot water lol Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 What does the armature and windings look like on the inside, as long as those 2 carbons clean up alright and the armature is ok ,might be back in business, but it looks like previous owner has mistreated it Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Could you clean up the end of the carbon where it touches the armature just for better contact, with the edge of a razor blade, is the carbon on the left fixed tightly to the connecting wire Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 If it does can you cover the exposed wire with insulating tape same as the right side, really just trying to do this cheaply Quote
Crazy Welsh Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 BLOOD! Razor blade trying to kill me . Give me five minutes before I pass out with loss of blood haha. Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 This is what is known as taking one for the bike, blood ,sweat and tears Quote
Crazy Welsh Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 this bike. Duct tape fixes finger haha. Just going to give the part a nice hot bubble bath haha. Quote

ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Have you cleaned the copper part of the armature its hard to tell with the light, a match box edge could work with that Quote

Still trying to stop the bleeding. Will take more photos in a min. (Now having a weird question ask to me...been ask out on a date. I am not a normal girl, who the feck would date a girl that has her bike in bits in her living room floor lol). Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 You can only give it a go CW, but watch your step if you don't already know the person, these days the parameters have moved , and parents don't dress their girls up in pink ,be yourself and they can take or leave it Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 (edited) http://i.imgur.com/EefHTKB.jpgMight be worth putting it all back together, and giving it a go, it can only be the starter motor now, there is a 2pin diode but your neutral switch runs through that and the neutral looks like its working , if you have got any jumper cables you could attach them to the battery pos to the starter cable nut on top and neg to the body of the starter motor to see if it spins before you put it back on the bike, it will make you jump if it does spin:) Edited March 13, 2017 by ThePhatomfart Quote
