GSX1100ET Pro Stock dragbike project

Did a few sprints on my stock ish 1075cc roadbike with extended arm. Decided recently to build a race bike for sprinting and drag racing. I already have some parts. Just bought this.

Good news. Yes I'll keep you updated. It will be a while before I test the pro stock engine, but I have a completely stock EFE engine to check and fit into my ET roadbike.

Thanks Bob. Still gotta build sheds, so I can empty my garage. Put a lift, a bench and a woodburner in.. Collecting parts at moment, then I'll start on crankcases, chassis etc.

Guy I used to work with built a drag bike out of a Fireblade.

Slammed it to the floor,made his own swingarm.

On a pretty std 900cc eng could run 9.9.

Used to go to RWYBs at Pod few years ago with my 3litre V6 Cavalier.

Spent hours modifying it ,run a best of 14.4.

In 1984 with a couple of mates built a Datsun 1200 with Rover V8 then 5.3 Olds V8,ran best 13.7.

Tiny bit of progress and possibly a big purchase from USA.

Still waiting on engine parts from the USA and still not enough room in my garage as a proper workshop, so I thought I'd swap engines on the road/sprint bike. Managed to bend a few valves last year, so I'm swapping the 1075cc, 105 bhp ET engine for a newer, lower mileage 1134cc, 120 bhp EFE engine that I bought in Eindhoven 18 months ago.

First easy job was to remove the exhaust system, footbrake and clutch actuator so I could remove the modified heavy duty clutch basket and plates and the high speed oil pump gears.

Took the clutch cover off, undid the pressure plate spring bolts, removed the pressure plate and then the friction and steel plates. At least 3 steels need replacing.

Troy from the forum turned up this morning with an armadillo bike cover for me. Couldn't let him leave without helping out in the garage. Engine out.
