I'm not overly fast either, mostly , I just find 2 up on the fazer takes the edge off it too much, was leaning toward the 900, best make sure I get a good go of one first Quote
johnakay Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 fazer is an old bike by now whether its a 600 or though so shock will have had it by now. most only last to 10,00 miles if your lucky. I had the 600, I ride two up all the time. I'm no light weight 18 stone wife is 9. this my old Fazer600 Quote

It feels good at fast speeds, and due to the torque you set off around others in quite an quick and impressive manner (well I think). The only downside is to really push it you are best leaning forward rather than staying sat upright and if there is a bit of wind or gusts then it reaaaaally sucks to be on a national speed limit or motorway. Fuel economy = good enough. I can manage about 160 miles until im down to the last bar - ive never got to the stage where's it's flashing at me to fill up! That said, that's if Im riding 'economically' position and the seat comfort means I dont ache the next day if Ive been riding all day I have since changed the exhaust to a scorpion and it has a nice grumble to it now. Cornering - really easy, if anything my own confidence holds the bike back but that will come with time. I still say if you're fresh out of the test centre this is what you need to seriously consider. If you're small, seriously consider. If you want a light commuter but not a small engine (eg 300cc mark), then again, consider. Hi, just been read your reviews on the MT07. When changing the exhaust. Did you remove the Cat or leave it in. If out, does it still pass the MOT in UK? Pete Quote
S-Westerly Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Technically a bike is required to have a Cat by law if it was manufactured with one and used on public roads. Whether it will be picked up on by an MOT testing station is another matter. Ditto if you get stopped by police for any reason and you are found to be without it maybe problematic. Finally your insurance may class removing it as an illegal modification and invalidate your insurance. Quote
Nick the wanderer Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 Hi, I changed my exhaust removing the cat. Emissions are not currently part of the MOT just excessive noise in the ear of the tester. Beware though because the short pipes are very very noisy and will pop and bang. Inform your insurance of any changes and you'll be covered, it will cost you a little bit more for a cosmetic exhaust change. Try a dedicated forum like fz07.org. Its American based so sorry about that but loads of stuff on there. Quote
