Mig wire size?

I inherited a MIG welder last year and though the gas bottle is still going strong the spool has now run out

Before I replace it I thought I'd ask here what would be a good size to use just for general tacking and quick dirty repairs as that's pretty much my capabilities

It had a .6 spool in before it ran out.

either .8 or .6

I used to use 0.9mm, pretty much did everything I wanted

You can use any you like, smaller for thin stuff, matching end nozzles always good, although you can use bigger ones with smaller wire.
