rennie Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Stopped at halfway house for a drink in the beer Garden. Came out to this Not my thing but it was a villiers, it was shiny and it had gear change on the right Quote
Marino Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 It’s shame to ride it on the road, it should be parked in the living room Quote
fastbob Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 It's not actually a Villiers . It's a Francis Barnet Cruiser 250 . Villiers engines were supplied to dozens of small British manufacturers most of which vanished as quickly as they appeared . Quote
rennie Posted August 30, 2020 Author Posted August 30, 2020 Ah! ok thanks! It said villiers on the engine casings so I went for that Quote

gogs01 Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 That Francis Barnett is a pretty bike, but I wouldn't want to ride it.I had a Norman motorcycle many years ago. It had a Villiers 2T engine, which was a pretty gutless 250cc 2 stroke twin. The chassis and brakes were also just about average for the day, so replacing it with a 350cc Matchless G3LS was a good move. Those were the days !?!
