Guest Richzx6r Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 The idling sounds like its hunting which could potentially point to an air leak between carb and cylinder ( carb rubbers can over time become hard and brittle and that leads them to cracking, for the power issue is the choke disengaged properly or is it stuck open very slightly which could cause this.Cheers Rich Quote
WD-40 Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 I agree with Richzx6r you might have an intake leak. Try spraying some wd40 around the intake rubbers when the bike is idling and listen for changes in the RPM. Quote
fastbob Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 First reaction , air leaks . Before you go pulling the carbs off there's one possibility . Have a look to see if any of the blanking plugs that cover the nozzles that you use to attach vacuum gauges have come off . There are usually three of them with the fourth carb activating the fuel tap . Quote
TimR Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Sidestand switch partially sticking will give the above symptoms for when pulling off . quite common on a zzr600 . Lubricate and manipulate switch . Quote
Bianco2564 Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Agree on air leaks and also check the carb balance, you would need a set of vacuum gauges to do this properly. Quote
