Tiger123 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Been rebuilding bike back up it starts OK but if I touch throttle it shoots up to 2,000 revs and doesn't want to come back down I've checked carbs and found nothing all four header feel hot it all seems to be an air leak but found nothingI've put carb synchronizer on all reading same anybody any ideas it was like this before I rebuilt it Quote
Guest Swagman Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Did you clean the carbs, had it been stood for a while, I bought a yzf600 and when you turned the throttle it would do the same thing, took carbs off cleaned them put back and just the same ,then I had the carbs ultrasonically clean and they worked fine, just an idea, plus check carb boots for cracking sucking air. TimR Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Isolate potential issues ...Loosen off/remove all throttle cables and manually work the throttle mech on carb/throttle body ...Does it still do it ?Yes .... Check return spring ..No Check cable routing / and condition of cables and adjustment . Quote
fastbob Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 You could try taking the Pilot Air Screws out a quarter turn . Quote

Bianco2564 Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Is the choke working ok, not sticking?Just looking at some pics of it all, do they have plastic nuts that retain the plunger mechanism? My RGV has this and they are prone to stripping the threads. As others have said sounds like an air leak, are the inlet rubbers still supple? The ones on my EXUP became almost solid, once I prised them off the engine, they wouldn't flex enough to go back on and had to replace them.
