Admin Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 2020 Vespa Elettrica (Vespa/) Vespa goes electric with its Elettrica scooter—a timeless design with a modern twist. Charge up its lithium-ion battery in a claimed four hours (with a 220V power source) and be ready for a trip around town. Being electric it requires virtually no engine maintenance, so there’s less time in the garage or shop and more time flicking through traffic. Since it is based on the compact Primavera platform this escoot can get you in and out of traffic with ease. Behind the bars, modern technology continues with its 4.3-inch full-color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. 2020 Vespa Elettrica Reviews, Comparisons, And Competition The concept of the electric Vespa was originally unveiled at EICMA in 2016 and the Italian scooter manufacturer officially started production for the 2019 model. When test rider Bruno dePrato rode the 2019 model he stated, “Riding the Elettrica is even easier and more instinctive than riding any other Vespa. All the rider needs to do is select the power mode (Full or Eco) and the intensity of the energy recovery and consequent braking effect, when decelerating (Stage 1 or 2)… In real life, it turns out to be extremely functional and practical, so very easy and safe, and even fun, if you want.” Vespa Elettrica Updates For 2020 Following closely on the heels of the original 45kWh version comes the more powerful 70kWh Elettrica that is new for the 2020 model year. The Elettrica 70 kWh stands out with red accents on the front shock and power unit cover and Elettrica plate. 2020 Vespa Elettrica (2019 45 kWh model) Claimed Specifications Price: $7,499 (45kWh)/$7,599 (70kWh) Battery: 4.2kWh Displacement: N/A Bore x Stroke: N/A Horsepower: 5.36 hp Torque: 147.5 lb.-ft. WD-40 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 It will be interesting to see how things go in the future. Bikes are light weight. They need relatively small batteries. The small batteries should have short charge times. Cars on the other hand are heavy and need big batteries that take longer to charge. Bikes could become more practical than cars for a lot of people. It could lead to a big increase in bikers. Quote

James in Brum Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 I would have an electric bike for my commute. I would even consider a scooter if powerful enough. This is not powerful enough and is about the equivalent of a fifty CC isn’t it? 1 Quote
