Hello all - I passed my full motorcycle license in around 1996. I did one of those crammer courses somewhere in Peterborough. As I was a young bozo student at the time, I did not send the pass certificate off to convert into my full license.

How can I track down that pass certificate? And is it too late and do I have to start again?

Thanks everyone - I cannot find out how to fix this online...

From how I understand it you had two years to claim the entitlement. After that time you have to take the test again :crybaby:

As Tiggie says, unfortunately you will have to take your test again.

This means you’ll have to do a theory test and then there are two modules to pass.
Mod 1 is off road

Mod 2 is road

Just a thought…. Have you checked your licence has the full A entitlement?

You can also contact the DVLA directly and for a fee (it was £5 back in 2000 when I did it) and ask them to send you all the info they hold on you. This will give you every entry about your licence they have. If your full A licence is there then all good.
I suspect it won’t be if you never sent it off.
Nowadays you have the choice when you have passed your test for the examiner to take your pass cert and report the pass. All done online as soon as they get back into the office. No need to worry, or forget about sending it off anymore.

I noticed in your profile you have a Royal Enfield. I wouldn’t be using it until you gain your full A entitlement. Even if you have insurance, you won’t be covered as you are not riding in accordance with your licence.

I would look around for a school and explain your situation. I would say it won’t take you long, but with the current situation with COVID it’ll take you longer to get all the appointments than it will for just the few lessons you’ll need.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Following on from @fullscreenaging, it's actually free now to check your license entitlement. You just need to enter your license details on the GOV.UK. Good Luck!
