jedibiker Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I was out today for a long run, we did about 220 miles and also the last time we went out i noticed too. More so today. The grips seem to vibrate more than normal at 65+ I was sat at 70 on the motorway and shut off the engine and pulled clutch in and rolled at 70, and no vibration.. So am i correct to assume this is an engine mount issue? if it was tyres or anything else it would still vibrate when rolling. My other issue is fowlers or wemoto dont seem to list the rubbers or mounts.. cheers Quote
Bender Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Are bar end weights original, could try some thicker grips Oxford do them as do others. Quote

Bender Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 Still worth getting or checking balance as its an on throttle issue Quote

jedibiker Posted May 30, 2021 Author Posted May 30, 2021 the mounts look like they move a little with the engine, is this normal i cant get to the left nut to tighten. doesnt look right but never looked at it before. Quote
linuxrob Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 look at the bottom side ones too. My 1200 vibs at 2000, 4000, and 6000 more than other revs. filled the handlebars with expanding foam isolated a few vibs, some peaple use ball bearings. in the bars or really heavy bar ends. Front wheel bearing would show up at speed WITH the revs killed. Rob Quote

Rob bottom side? not sure this has those, 3 front and 1 upper back 1 lower back. thought it was an easy fix but engine has to move to put the rubber in place, so going to see if loose etc first. now im hoping its rear wheel bearing lol. Ian Frog Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 For what it`s worth if the mounts have rubber bushes around them then I would slacken them off and thoroughy clean them with something like an old toothbrush and paraffin then retighten to the correct torque. If this makes no difference then nothing lost and something eliminated from your choice of problems. Cheers Ian 1 Quote

Cheers Ian Im going to see if they need tightening etc, but looks like to remove them the engine needs to move up to pull them out so hoping its not them now. will also check bar ends are in ok. after that its wheel bearing checks. not a bad job if its them Quote
