Davidtav Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 So I went to the local Moto Guzzi dealer today to look really at the V7 models … however I looked at the Adventure style model. I think it’s called a V85 TT. They have some strange colour schemes. But I quite liked the red one. I haven’t had a test ride yet. But I sat on it and it fitted. Any thoughts? Quote
DR1 Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 About 18 months ago I had convinced myself that I wanted a V85TT. I’d always wanted a Guzzi and it seemed to tick all of the boxes so I arranged a test ride. It was OK. I too was a bit concerned about the colour schemes but liked the grey and as one of those was available said I’d let them know ASAP. I then rode home on my ST1300 and before I’d got halfway home decided that I wasn’t (yet) prepared to give up the torque and weather protection the Honda offered. That might have been that but a couple of weeks later I booked a test ride on a CB500X. I expected to reject it straight away but half an hour later I was hooked. I didn’t do anything straight away but about a year later booked another ride on the 500X and ordered one there and then. I can’t explain it but, for me, it is everything that the V85TT wasn’t and that wasn't what I was expecting at all as it costs about half the price. Since my first interest in the Guzzi I’ve been a member of a V85TT FB page and to be honest some of the reliability posts have only reinforced me in my thinking that I made the right choice for me. 2 Quote
S-Westerly Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Never ridden one but have been tempted by the V85 TT. Still am a bit as in my youth I lusted after a Guzzi Le Mans. Still do to be honest but unless I win the lottery not going to happen. Quote

Over the years I have been fortunate to ride more than one LeMans including a very tasty factory tuned Mk2 and they are a very acquired taste to say the least. Coming equipped with one of the hardest narrow seats it has ever been my misfortune to sit on lol. I can only imagine the target audience were very slim and light with no possibility of suffering from the old "Chalfonts"! But oh how I wish I had an original mk1 in the garage. Cheers Ian 1 Quote
Davidtav Posted February 3, 2022 Author Posted February 3, 2022 All interesting. I’m thinking I need a test ride. Although my inclination is to just buy one! Yeah I can be really stupid like that Quote
bonio Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 I've only read the reviews, but it didn't shine... far more was written about styling than handling. 1 Quote

Yeah I can be really stupid like that I’ve still got two cars that I bought brand new without test driving either one. I bought the first in 2004 and the second in 2006. The newer one is my everyday car approaching 200,000 miles and still as much fun to drive and as versatile as it was when I first got it, the older one has done less than half the mileage but only gets used on high days and holidays. Sometimes just buying is the right way to go. 2 Quote
