Hi all

New here.. I have a Meteor 350. Was trying to sell to get a RE Custom but depreciation is too much. So going to go the customisation route.

Below should be a picture of what I want to achieve. But I'm not sure what I can get away with when it comes to the exhaust. The bike has a CAT so not sure if I should try an keep it. What about the muffler?

Also the lowered back end. Is it a case of just replacing the shocks?

Sorry may be dumb questions. Any hints tips etc really appreciate.

Cheers Tim

Hi Tim and welcome to the forum

What do you mean by "What you can get away with"

Are you talking noise? or looks

It would be helpful if they hadn't put the panniers in the way hiding the rear suspension. Where did you find that picture? If there's a Meteor forum there will be someone who knows more about specifics involved.

But from my experience of guys who change bits on the Triumph Bobber where the rear suspension has only 7cm of travel you need to be careful not to make the ride too harsh if you lower the back end.

A lot of them delete the cat and put alternative exhausts on but with current engine management systems it doesn't always work as well as they'd hoped so they end up needing a remap.

What exhaust systems are available for the Meteor? Get some feedback from people who have fitted them and run them for a while. You'll find out if the are any issues or compliance problems before you spend your money.

Just remembered, a lot of guys who buy cheap aftermarket exhausts which don't come with baffles find it simpler to leave the cat in place rather than then trying to get baffles to fit into turned out pipes like those shown.

These guys are also v helpful with RE, they have done a lot of their own mods and custom jobs I travelled there to their showroom they are always happy to help over the phone too. As the 350 is still new it sometimes takes supplier's and dealer's a little while to get their head round new models and possible mods.

Thanks guys.

What I'm trying to resolve is

1 The noise of the exhaust

2 The issue with the CAT and the ECU

3 of it's rideable any distance with that suspension

As for the makers of the bike. No idea as it looks like it was private sale in Canada.

I will write more later when I get more time

Thanks all
