QR tank bags and advice.

Hello, i am wondering if anyone has any advice in general on tank bags and if they have experience (good or bad) on Quick release systems... 

 

Also i have recently purchased an oxford tank bag and its fairly hard to find the right QR ring (sold seperately... of course) i have an FPS Mondial Hipster 125, i wonder if any of you have any tips of finding the right ring...

I've got a Givi tank bag with quick release ring fitted and it works well. Use it quite a lot and never had an issue.

Don't you get caught short with a quick release ring?

I've got one of the small Givi ones, it's great for your phone, wallet and keys etc, but if I were buying again I'd buy a waterproof one. Sure it comes with a waterproof cover, but when it starts to rain you've got to stop to put the said cover on. That means gloves off, dig the cover out from wherever you've stashed it (that is if you remembered to take it with you in the first place), it's then awkward to fit, you've then got to put now damp hands in your gloves and by then it's all probably too late anyway. Buy a waterproof one!

The other thing with waterproof covers is that they are great at keeping rain off the top and sides, but a lot of water gets thrown up from underneath. After a very wet ride in Derbyshire I found mine was bone dry on top but the bottom was damp.
