Giving up now is a bit pointless the damage was done before you started taking precautions. My tinnitus has got really bad this year to the point I've been feeling like what's the point anymore, death would fix it, but not thinking about killing myself as I've got so much to live for if you get me. I think mine was from going to concerts without hearing protection, motorbike hasn't helped but that's when I got ringing in my ears straight after.

Getting plenty of sleep, not drinking alcohol and coffee, relaxing all help.

My tinnitus was caused by 20 years in an engineering company

When on the bike I always wear earplugs as with a 40% hearing loss on the left side I simply cannot afford to loose any more

I just use the standard orange Foam plugs and sometimes listen to music from the Zumo through the bluetooth speakers in the Helmet

If I am not listening to music All I hear is My tinnitus it tends to drown everything else out wind noise and engine noise the tinnitus is louder than both

An update.

The keffiyeh has come. And some Mack's Blackout soft foam earplugs.

The earplugs are a lot more narrow than the ones I was using, and it turns they fit down into the ear canal really easily, and make a good seal.

The keffiyeh is even better. I'm using it to plug the gap between neck and lid. The result is a calm, soft whistling sound, even at higher speeds.

Hoping this is going to be enough to keep me on the road for a bit longer :classic_biggrin:

I've just ordered one - my older Duke 2 modular is a brilliant helmet for the price but it's not as quiet at my Schuberth. I tend to use the Caberg for work trips when taking ear plugs in and out is a bit of a hassle. I'm not usually much above 40-50mph but even so the wind noise is obtrusive so I'll try the keffiyeh.

I use loop ear plugs. Theres a noise reduction set and a nouse cancelling set and i also popped a spoiler onto my windshield. That has made a huge difference.
