Mike3012 Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Morning all, Stalled the bike at lights and lost balance, Bike dropped and now broken foot peg and bent brake peddle. Any suggestions on what a cheaper outcome would be rather then buying a new one as can't afford right now, but i need bike to get to work, I've watched videos on YouTube about heating it up and bending it back to a usable position is this advisable The bike is a trident 660 Tia Mike Quote
Old-codger Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Footrest is buggered so its buy a new one or try breakers and just replace, the brake pedal dont look to bad and probably made of steel. So remove and if you have a vice all the better you may need a bit of heat but gently bend it back into shape a little at a time. Dont go beating the hell out of it and keep test fitting until you are happy with the shape. Good luck. 2 Quote

Tiggie Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Cant see any brake pedals on Ebay for your bike. I do think it shouldn't be too much of an issue to bend it back into shape though. Here's a foot rest I found https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364079810291?hash=item54c4d906f3:g:MpEAAOSwkkhjA7ly&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4AAcHtcnUJ2UsaEF2tPvWrStD5cyVv2EwecMGs75TGHLMIganFZw3TTVFtlnHy0yy0CP%2FP2N%2ByKNAGciuClnWoleSOEG1aWfEV08oNW3PP%2FEIgR0qmyIOk7%2Ftcd31ngEgbW3RQgFp%2FPFqzmCAhOufz0xd9yYWnQmLJkQJCSzmS%2FJY%2BbGjmmAQqg1aAbtJsNKanoH1eqSoBw2UA3j09Qg09oD7lJhIuNT5VHQEfWMmkPNc8GpVO%2BAv4kld2qnI6O2zrW%2FGzpfRuUAXSBQn1VDn99jO%2FW8IOvRaMwx3XjbIoZk|tkp%3ABFBM4qjAvrph Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 I've straightened brake levers by putting them in a vice, heating with a heat gun whilst applying steady pressure. It's always worked fine. Just be patient and go slowly. Quote
