Kang Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Hi, This is my first post so please be gentle. I've recently bought my first motorbike and I'm booked to take my CBT (for the first time) at forty five years old. The bike I have bought is nearly as old as me, a 1983 CG125. My question (probably the first of many) is will it run well on regular unleaded petrol or do I need to search out something more suitable or add an additive or something? Thanks in advance. 1 Quote
Bianco2564 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Hello and welcome. According to Honda UK, only models after 1993 can run on e10 regular unleaded, so yours should run using e5 super unleaded. Quote
Kang Posted July 23, 2023 Author Posted July 23, 2023 Thanks Bianco2564. That's really helpful. Cheers. Quote
GojuRyu5 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Welcome and good luck. You’re never too old to learn and never too old for new experiences. Best of luck with the CBT when you get there. Quote
bonio Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Never had a CG myself but they're meant to be a great bike, and completely bomb proof. All the best with the CBT. At 44 you're still 5 years younger than me when I did mine. 1 Quote
Kang Posted July 27, 2023 Author Posted July 27, 2023 Cheers. Thanks for all the encouraging words. I can’t wait to get on the road. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Welcome and agree above. No harm in still researching just incase. an additive if your bike even doesn't like e5 dor some reason . better yet even look at finding where to get some new fuel pipes now just in case due to its age . They have character. Quote
