Dapplefrost Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 Looking at buying this bike from a private seller. (some of you may have been my other post about which of the two benelli tnt’s I should get ) Well this one just came up, so I enquired and it looks good! It’s a 2022 bike, had all its services done at a dealer, and seems to have been looked after apart from a weathered exhaust, which I’ll change anyway. ANYWAY! He’s saying that it’s only done 1225 miles, but on the photos he sent me, it says 12253. He’s saying it’s 1225.3, but from what I know about the benelli tnt, I don’t believe it goes up in decimal points, but I want to believe him Because it’s still only a 2022, I can’t check milage through MOT history annoyingly… Just wondering what you guys thought? Thank you in advance! Quote
Ian Frog Posted August 17, 2023 Posted August 17, 2023 If it`s been serviced by a dealer get a photo of the service record as the dealer will have recorded the mileage at the point of service. Cheers #Ian 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Yeah id agree its 1225.3 , the 3 is gapped further away from the 5. yes it seems very weathered jist from the pic, bolts grubby, wearing around the handle bar clamps, heavy wearing of paint on the handle bar brace. Its a year old or less....How heavy weathered is the exhaust?? Have you found out which exhaust fits this and how much? you will need to tell the insurance... they maybe (premium rise) or not be bothered.. Quote
Gerontious Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 If it’s a 2022 then at most it’s 20 months old. That works out at 612 miles a month. Every month since new. Not likely. it’s already got a fault. A missing decimal point. don’t bother. Plenty of bikes out there and more appearing all the time as the financial crisis increases. Mortgage payment or a valuable toy that’s not going to be used all winter - this is the choice a lot of people are facing. Quote
JRH Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 If it is 1223 in 20 months thati s 61 miles per month. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 either way you look set to get one... just buy on condition!! It always costs more to bring it to a condition your happy with than just to buy in that the first place! Make sure its straight and is whats it is, dont pay over the odds, there are plenty of others. oh and if i might suggest plenty of acf50 and electricial grease. oh just remembered in your other post why when u said you was gonna get it some parts / upgrades? for it, like the exhaust (it was weathered which reads as rusted) which is understandable but the thing that threw me was "to get it some plugs", Why plugs?
