Ruly Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Looking to buy a 125cc for road use . I know they’re not perfect for road but i like 2 strokes. not sure what is the best deal . Was going to buy a brand new 2023 for 6k but decided to look for second hand one instead. any thoughts? Advice? Thanks Quote
Yorky Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Any of those, with that wheel/tyre set up. will be crap on the roads. Yes, they'll do it, but expect to end up on your arse at some point very early on. Quote

Yorky Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 (edited) Get supermoto wheels and tyres, I'm guessing you will find some that will fit. Edited September 28, 2023 by Yorky Quote
Old-codger Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Good luck getting one of those registered for the road there are no lights at all or a horn or rear reflector. You have no functioning brake lights or any form of ignition key. Motorcross bikes are not suitable for the road due to the nature of the engine tune believe me ive been there and done that. If you want that style of bike go for the enduro look probably have to be a 4 stroke or an older 2 stroke though. 2 Quote

I was so fixated on the tyres, thinking they were more green laners, that I totally missed the lack of some more important details 1 4 Quote
megaross Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I'd get any jap 125 you can get your dickbeaters on for about a grand if a full fat bike isn't an option yet Quote
Bianco2564 Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I doubt you could get it road legal , Euro 5 and all that. If you could, its unrestricted at around 33hp, if you are on L plates you can't legally ride it anyway. Insurance would most likely be a problem. Like your ambition though, I love two stroke bikes aswell. Quote

bud Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 When the maintenance is measured in hours. It's not going to make a great road bike. Look for one of the last DT 125's. Quote
