Mickly Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I made a storage tube for Zippy - got the sort of plan off the ātinternet. Made from a scrounged bit off 4ā plastic pipe ( @BenderĀ ) will be familiar with the parts used. Sealed one end with the top of an old kitchen canister I had lying around in the shed ( as you do ) and added some sticky pad stuff used to cushion the carpet from the leg of the sofa, needed to stop it rattling or rubbing against the fuel tank. got a couple ofĀ TESLA Ā Rubber -LIned PIpe Clips to mount it with a bit of bent metal, bolts & washers sourced from the shed.Ā Open end closed with a Rothenberger Steel Drain Test Plug - basically expands a rubber bladder to seal the end as the wing nut is tightened up. Total cost - Ā£11 Works a dream - just have to wrap the contents to stop them rattling. Ā 2 Quote
Bender Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 If it works it works Ā You can get a screwed solvent end access and solvent blank at the other endĀ Ā I don't think I could buy the end bungs for that price. Ā Ā Quote

Ā Ā It works well & yes you can get a blank to glue on one end for a couple of quid, but I used something Iād got lying around. The bung was only Ā£7:50 from Wickes, couple of quid cheaper on eBay, but I didnāt want to wait. Going for a ride out in a bit, see if it falls off / apart 1 Quote
Steve_M Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Iāve just been poring over my bike to see if thereās a lace to fit something like this to hold all the stuff you need to take on tour but are a pain in the neck to have in panniers/topbox (Eg. Puncture repair kit). Nope, nothing. Shame, ācos itās a fine idea. Ā Ā Quote

Ā Ā Shame, Iāve got a side stand puck, a tyre pressure gauge, disc lock & lightweight waterproof(ish) jacket in mine with room for a tyre repair kit when I buy one. The space itās mounted in is due to Zippy having an aftermarket can which means one of the dual cans has been deleted. Quote

Ā£200 new but even at This eBay price⦠Iāll struggle along without.Ā Quote
