MOD1 AND MOD2 confused

Recommended Posts

Hi people

This is from my previous post

I had a CBT and now I did my mod 1 and MOD 2 on a 125CC scooter and past ....

So now I have a full 125 scooter license so I can remove my L plates and carry my wife AS I ONLY WANTED A 125CC scooter SO WE COULD GO OUT LOCALLY TOGETHER

I ALSO HAVE A 125CC MANUAL MOTORBIKE...

REGARDLESS OF MY REASONS TO DO MY MOD 1 AND MOD 2 ON MY SCOOTER ... ITS DONE AND A HAVE PASSED .....

NOW I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND I CAN NOW REMOVE THE L PLATES AND CARRY A PILLION ON MY 125CC SCOOTER BECAUSE I PASSED....

AND I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND I CANNOT CARRY A PILLION ON MY 125 GEARED BIKE BECAUSE I PASSED ON A SCOOTER.....

BUT MY QUESTION IS ...

CAN I STILL RIDE MY 125 CC MANUAL MOTORBIKE USING MY L PLATES AND NOT CARRY A PASSENGER AS THIS BIKE IS FOR MY SELF AND I'M NOT BOTHERED ABOUT CARRYING A PASSENGER ON THIS BIKE ANYWAY ....

I'M NOT BOTHERED ABOUT CARRYING A PASSENGER ON MY 125CC MANUAL MOTORBIKE THAT'S WHY I DID IT ON THE SCOOTER ...

BUT AM I STILL ALLOWED TO RIDE MY 125CC GEARED BIKE ON MY OWN WITH L PLATES ....

AND IF SO WILL I NEED TO DO MY CBT AGAIN TO ALLOW ME TO CARRY ON RIDING MY GEAR BIKE EVEN THOUGH I'VE PASSED MY FULL MOTORBIKE LICENSE ON MY MOPED....

OR CAN I CARRY ON RIDING BOTH MY MOPED 125CC WITH FULL LICENSE WITH PASSENGER ....

AND ON MY OWN DISPLAYING THE L PLATES ON MY 125CC GEARED BIKE ????

OR DO I NEED TO DO MY CBT AGAIN TO ALLOW ME TO CARRY ON RIDING MY 125CC GEARED BIKE ON MY OWN DISPLAYING MY L PLATES ??????

NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THE ANSWER EVEN THE DVLA

From the DVLA website:

When you do not need to take CBT

You do not have to take CBT if you:

- have a full motorcycle licence for one category and want to upgrade to another

My interpretation would be that you don't need to take a CBT again.

Replied to your other post.

If you take a test on an auto or semi auto, you will only get an auto licence, so you WILL need a valid CBT, or retake the test on a geared bike, which also entitles you to ride autos.
