Cycleops Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 This is attached to the frame of my newly bought Honda VTR250. No idea what it's for. Im sure you well informed riders know. Quote
Simon Davey Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Looks like a crash protector, just in case you hit the deck. I thought at first it was a paddock stand fitting. Quote

Cycleops Posted April 9, 2024 Author Posted April 9, 2024 (edited) There's also this on the front wheel: Also a crash protector? So maybe better off than on? Edited April 9, 2024 by Cycleops Quote
mealexme Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 They are definitely crash protectors These to be precise. I agree that they do look too long, but that may just be the camera angle. The ones by the front wheel are also crash protectors, yes. 1 Quote

Cycleops Posted April 9, 2024 Author Posted April 9, 2024 (edited) The bike is in immaculate condition, no signs of any crash damage or abuse. What is in a questionable state? Edited April 9, 2024 by Cycleops 1 Quote

S-Westerly Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 West African bling being used as crash protection. You live there so you probably have a better idea than me but I've seen some wildly decorated vehicles on the roads out there. As for being only on the right - was the bike previously kept parked up hard against a wall on that side? Alternatively they're 2nd hand crash bungs and the seller never got around to getting more. Ask the man. 1 Quote
Cycleops Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 No idea about it's previous life @S-Westerly as it came straight from Japan . All I know about him is that he has small hands as he'd fitted it with variable reach levers. Just wondering if this sort of crash protection is popular. Quote
S-Westerly Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 Crash bungs are quite common although I've never used them. Bound to be someone on here who has. I know you can pay after market ones for my current bike but I don't plan to fit any. Quote
bonio Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 I've put some on the MV. Keeps the fairings off the ground should it go over. Which has happened. 3 1 Quote
