New rider, CBT coming

Hi everyone,

 

New rider here; I'm 47, male, I live in south-west London and work as a truck driver. I've got my CBT booked this Saturday, and hope to get my first bike fairly soon after so I can ride it to work and for pleasure.

Hi. Hope you have a good time on the CBT. They're usually a fun day out. Will you be looking to do the Direct Access course after that?

You can go straight from CBT to DAS lessons, or buy a 125 and pootle round for a bit first. Either way works. If you're already a car driver (or a cyclist) you're already half way there.

You need to have at least a night's sleep between the two

It didn't go very well; looking for a different CBT provider.

CBT is the easy bit, well it should be if you have a good instructor

That's rough. My wife had a really bad time on her first cbt. She found another place and it all went a whole lot better from then on.
