Mickly Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Saw this bike today with a small chain attached to the gear lever and the frame, also the brake pedal & frame the other side. Neither my mates or I have ever seen it before, what’s it’s purpose? 1 Quote

JRH Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 So you don’t lose the lever when it falls off the splines. Quote

Bianco2564 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Must be a pain carrying those blocks of wood around for the side stand. 3 Quote

This is a view of a small section 2 1 Quote
Solution Tinkicker Posted August 22, 2024 Solution Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) It's for when riding off road in deep ruts. It will not allow the pedals to bend far enough back that they break off when you straighten them at the side of the trail. Quite a common practice back in the day.
