Yeah just like the bmw e28,e36,e39  went to make the best car for the reputation, then they make cheap and shite designs for profit  in the later generations, just like their bikes.

Dont get me wrong there was the odd thing that could have been better but sooo much more was right, god the e36 was just such a sweet spot, Straight six was an joy to the brain and ears…quite and smooth when needed but even an auto box was more than willing to do 11’s and drifts for the lads 4fook sake! 😅😭

I was a BMW repairer for over 25 years.  I gave up when the stylists and IT eejits pushed the engineers into the background. In the sixties, seventies and eighties it was thorough German logic and application that made excellent bikes and cars.

Unfortunately they lost the plot in the Nineties !

Its probably due to weight saving seen as though its one of their marketing ploys about the 1300GS
