Korben Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Wow, although it was being talked about, I honestly thought they would just stiff all the learners and bring in a naff system for a while. Quote
pumilio Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Big news! Hopefully my significant other gets her licence sooner now...! Quote
MonkeyKnuckle Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Quickly people book your tests!! Quote

Guest Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I didn't think that would happen either. The Wife is pleased though. Quote
craig Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 bet they will be a mad rush of poeple booking tests now Quote
Ratser Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Yip I think I will book 3 tomorrow, just in case you understand. Quote
Guest Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Some people had said the new one would be harder but I don't think there would be much difference. It's just more expensive and further away so I'd have to book ages in advance! At least now I can do a test on roads that I know. Quote

Fozzie Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Its brilliant, the new one was only harder because it has to be carried out over an hour while the current one is only 30 minutes long...Good to see that people will have an easier time getting their license. Quote

nikobe Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Really pleased for you Bill! I'm really pleased too as now it looks like I might be able to take the current test too! I wouldn't have minded taking the new one I don't think, but the price is more attractive on the current one. Quote

yuri Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Thanks for that! What a grrreat news! Has anyone been able to book at the old test centres? Portsmouth is still unavailable... they did not take bookings for October so I guess they just have not adapted to the change yet. Hope the examiners have not quit their jobs ! Quote

I have to call my training centre next week as they have applied for a whole load of new block bookings.Should get one for the beginning of next month though. They also said they had been inundated with folk wanting tests and DAS, unsurprisingly. And I got through at 9.10 this morning. They opened at 9. Quote
wannaride Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 This is the second time in tonights forum browsing where I've wanted an emoticon for the term 'WOO HOO!'. I have my test on the 23rd, and this news takes a lot of pressure off. If I do fail, the consequences aren't SO disastrous. This is awesome news! Quote
Foz Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 This has to be the happiest thread ever!!!! agreed brings a smile to your face!! Quote
Guest Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 I don't know what all the fuss is about tbh, when I talked to the guy about doing the DAS course he told me the new test might even work out easier because all the hard bits are done off road. He was at the new site and said it was'nt difficult for anyone who has been trained properly, the only bit you have to watch out for is making sure you get up to the correct speed in time because you only get two shots at it but apart from that the rest is just basic CBT stuff. Still I am happy because I can do it at my local test centre again. Quote
