OrkneyPhil Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Hi as my user name suggests, my name is Phil and I live in Orkney, a group of island off the top coast of Scotland. My first motorbike was a Honda CB250 NB Superdream Deluxe on a Y (1982) plate, followed by various other bikes. After a gap, I got back into the saddle in 2008 with a NT700 Deauville, followed by a VFR 800 and for the last 8 years a ST1300 Pan European. At the end of this week I will getting a Honda NT1100 DTC with the Voguer Pack. With this in mind I chose to come to a more generic motorcycle group (rather than the Pan European group I have been with) and look forward to getting to know you. 2 Quote
Simon Davey Posted February 17 Posted February 17 A warm welcome to the forum @OrkneyPhil I imagine you're used to riding in rough weather, especially strong, cold winds. That Honda NT1100 DTC, looks like a lovely machine for getting about on. Quote

You are certainly right about the riding conditions up here being wet and windy and the ST1300 certainly coped with it fine. The new NT1100 will hopefully just be as good although a lot lighter! 3 Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I don't know much about the Orkneys, what kind of roads do you mostly ride? Quote

bonio Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) Welcome in Phil. The Pan looks fantastic. A Honda man throughout, I see: very wise. If you look at my bikes you will see where I'm coming from. Edited February 17 by bonio Quote

Orkney has a lot of narrow winding roads and when I get down to Scotland there are lovely roads winding through the mountains. 2 Quote
