Phil_D Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 How many miles can you get out of the reserve tank on a 1999 Honda CBR600F? At the minute i usually stick about £12 of petrol in every 150 miles or so and have only had the petrol light come on once. Nice to know so i dont get stranded anywhere! Quote
techno Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Why not strap a petrol can to the bike and run it dry and see, probably the only way you'll realy know and its affected by your riding.Best thing pick a distance then always set the trip meter and fill up on or before that disatance or when the light comes on! Guest Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 once the light comes on then look to refuel at the next opportunity, how many miles you'll get depends on:how your ridingadditional weightlocation of next filling station.. you can't guarantee it will be in exactly the miles you have in red.. also if you run it dry it will pick up all the partciles in the bottom of the tank and may cause the carbs or injectors to block..helps to have the trip set as well, then you know how far you've done, and if the light fails you have another means of estimating fuel use Quote
TC Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I normally fill up around 120 miles but have had 170 out of a tank on a Honda Cbr 600fs 2 Quote
Roadtorque Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Think most bikes are good for about 25/30Consumption depends on how you rideif your on reserve then slow & steady will get you the extra miles Quote
