I failed my last test for forgetting the shoulder check with the U-Turn; stupid I know

There is of course no way I'll forget that now, but do I need to be doing shoulder checks everytime I turn for the figure of 8 exercise?

i failed on same thing... the answer is no.

Shoulder check, pull off.... go round the slalom(sp?) striahgt into figure of 8 (x2) only shoulder checks are as you pull off in this instance

No. But remember to do your shoulder checks: -

Whenever you set off from standing - EVERYTIME! (Check your mirrors first).

Before turning into the "parking bay" when you first start.

Before doing the U turn.

After you have stopped during the Emergency stop (Check your mirrors first)

What was interesting was the fact I received a minor in my test for not doing a shoulder check when entering the car back - before the test had even 'begun'. I know I was completely in the wrong, but didn't think I could be marked until I was actually in the area!

That brings me onto another question, if I'm out on the road and I stop at a Zebra crossing, should I be doing both shoulder checks before I pull away?

Yep!

On the left you might have Bob (Boy On Bike)

On your right you might have Tom (Twat On Motorbike)

It only takes like, 1/2 a second!
