  1. That really is a minor issue I would clean it all up straighten it out then find a local fabrication shop and pop in and speak to one of the welders to run a bead on it They will probably charge you pennies for their tea fund then you can clean it all up yourself at home
  2. Yeah! Wtf is that all about I know people call them an armchair but that's taking the piss
  3. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225672518654?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=YptoeOtRSmK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=rZXY7fpBQhi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Thats probably worth a punt! The trouble is you're going double the mileage of what you have currently! But as I say mileage is no issue Or you could find an early one that's had the alternator done
  4. Cheers I missed that
  5. The charging system It's an engine out job to change that stator. There has been a fair few failures on it. It's not something that would worry me but I would do the work myself. At first I thought you was still talking about shaft problems What's your budget if you don't mind me asking
  6. For what reason to avoid them?
  7. Ah yes! I forgot about your issue
  8. You will hear stories of failed shafts you do with other mainstream manufacturers too it was one of the issues with the fjr if not serviced correctly Another issue with the fjr is the rear suspension linkage! It's a serviceable item and no one ever gets it done even the dealers skip it! If and when that fails it can be deadly. On the bmw the shaft isn't an issue it's failure to maintain other parts that allows moisture in that causes a failure
  9. Get the bmw! What was the question There is some cracking deals out there for the R1200rt lc Don't be put off by high mileage either as I have seen a lot with well over 200k on the clocks! They get cheap after about 35k as people think that's high mileage The RT is a better bike than the K16 in terms of nimbleness the K16 is a great motorway bike and the engine is silky smooth. I have seen some RT's as low as 6k and it's a lot of bike for the money
  10. If it was all legal and above board then I would have no issues with it
  11. There is a simple solution to your problem! Loads of breakfast runs and plenty of cake too

Hi and welcome to the forum Your service manual should detail what you should be doing and at what revs you can go to

The owners on the groups have never owned a BMW
  16. @Mickly It was me that created the Tags GPX and just added it to the post To do that you need GPX loader from Garmin which is pretty easy to use to for the future It's only mods and admin that can mark as solution and only in pitstop at the min maybe I should enable it in other forums to for these reasons
  17. Awesome bit of racing this weekend! Some not so great results and some unexpected results too! Bridewell and Irwin seem to be pushing their luck on those Ducati's! Bad start from vickers but a good finish in the end and Hicky's luck is just getting worse! I agree, I have stopped watching the WSBK as its just a one man race
  18. Yeah I need to pull my finger out too We should meet up at some point seen as though your only 100 miles or so away now
  19. Jesus! With the spare change you can buy more weedkiller.........
  20. I was expecting worse Still 3 times the price!!
  21. I find it much easier to create an account at https://www.myrouteapp.com/ Create your routes there then send them straight to the 590 Its free to use and you can subscribe if you really want which gives acccess to a few extra tools and different maps Sadly you won't be able to send routes via bluetooth from your phone like you can with the zumo XT so you would be stuck with a cable and a PC connection but you would have to do that anyway
  22. And the before price?

I only use my bike as a toy and this last year a change in job meant I had less time to get out on the bike! I am more of a fair weather rider too but this last year so far I have managed 6.5k and 5.5k the year before On the FJR I used to barely manage 3k! but I really didn't enjoy that bike at all I got the BM with 14k on the clocks at 4 years old so averaged 3.5k in that time so very low for a touring bike its now got over 26k on the clocks
  24. Happy belated birthday @dynax Been away in Wales so not been on much hope you had a good one
  25. As @fullscreenaging raging says MyRoute App does this already
