  1. This is why I asked if its new I would be expecting at least 25k
  2. Was this a NEW bike or second hand?
  3. Another good check is to stick a multimeter on the battery and hit the starter and see what the voltage drops to

That's the one It lasts a while though A lot of people are using other greases but they are not the same! This stuff actually creates a seal

I will have a look when I get home and see if I can find the receipt! I seem the think I found it on ebay!
  8. No where near enough from the optimate they only put out 0.8 amps you would need around 200 amps to start it If it's gone green within 30 minutes then I suspect something is wrong as a flat battery would take a few hours to go green on an optimate

Yup that's right I'm on my phone and couldn't be bothered to type all that There is a lot of people speculating that the air inside the swing arm is warming up and escaping then when dropped in to a ford it cools down and sucks water in! Personally I think it's because the grease that seals it dries out and people are too cheap to buy the correct grease to seal the gaiters! It's 30 quid for 50g tube

The issue is that the boot can allow water in as with all seals if not maintained properly The one way valve that's being fitted is only to gs models and police and blood bikes RT's and not civilian spec RT's The problem isn't the lack of grease but water ingres in to the cv joint which can be an issue on any shaft driven bike.
  11. I it's only a few months I would wait
  12. Can you take a video of it and upload it to youtube?
  13. You can't upload videos directly to the forum This has been disabled for the reasons you mention! File size. They just take up all the storage space and also kill server resources You would need to use an external host like YouTube or something and then link them on the forum Personally I would upload them to YouTube and link them to all the places you would like from there and then that way if you remove the video for whatever reason it will remove it in all locations
  14. Mine has been left since October with E10 in and fired up first time and rode and ran lovely with no issues either

  16. Stop and go and a small compressor too Dont fanny about with the CO2 canisters as it will take around 4 to get a decent pressure in the rear to move the bike but not enough to inflate it fully

    Welcome to the forum
  18. Does it stop you deteriorating
  19. Thats what I did I put the bottle in hot water till it warmed up
  20. Thanks I will check that out as this is one thing I have been struggling with I have just got a decent spray bottle and saw a tip about heating the ACF50 up before applying which worked and was better but it was still too much applied in one go
  21. That sound very similar to one of mine About 12 years ago I went of for a blast on my old TL1000s I can out of a village I know and wound the bike on hitting a very substantial speed! its a straight road then it drops down and into a lovely left hander and up out the other side. As I flew in to the corner at full tilt really ringing its neck at the point of no return I suddenly saw loads of gravel that had been washed in to the road from the rain the night before. I have no choice but to carry on there was no time to slow down and no time to try and sit the bike up I hit the gravel and the full bike just slid to the right kicking and bucking all over the place while it scrambled for grip I slit on to the opposite side of the road where there was an oncoming car in the distance! He saw what happened and anchored on swerving to his left away from me The bike regained grip and I just just casually steered the bike across to my side of the road carrying on at the speed I was going and passing the car with him giving me a thumbs up Stopped at the café up the road to collect my thoughts and bollock myself
  22. Gave it a good wash today after yesterdays ride! I fixed my mates brakes yesterday so we had to test them Gave it a good coat of ACF50 too and removed the centre stand and stripped it to bare metal ready for either powder coating or paint
  23. It always starts solo till the missus enjoys it then it's game over I have discounted a lot of bikes due to luggage capacity
  24. Another thing to be mindful of is that if you are doing two up touring a lot of panniers aren't that big!
  25. Ebay is usually a good place to start
