Dealership?? Sounds pretty odd to me! Get a Smart car! I freaking love mine learning to drive a manual atm though so I have more options in the future when I wanna chop and change . What car does she want? Take it from me - when you look to get your OH an instructor, only choose one someone recommends you...my first lesson the instructor had me in tears cos I was struggling with the clutch and he was completely unhelpful and rude (it was my first time using one after all!). Now have an old bloke a workmate recommended and the lesson went awesomely, laughed through most of it and can't wait for my second lesson with him tomorrow .

Cage Insurance question! Legal assistance...
BikerMooFromMars replied to BikerMooFromMars's topic in General Chat
Absolutely correct. I have covered this subject before (maybe worth looking for) but the bottom line is legal expenses insurance is a rip off, and as Fozzie has already mentioned, if you are involved in a crash that is not your fault, you can choose a solicitor of your choosing, and getting your case funded on a no win no fee (conditional fee agreement) means that they will fight your corner on th basis that if they don't win they don't get paid, whereas legal exenses appointed solicitors will do the minimum work for maximum fees, they will often undervalue your case for a quick settlement to get you off their books and you probably will not deal with the same fee earner twice. I have only just seen this reply! We really need to pin your legal advice!! Incredibly useful stuff, thankyou -
I do NOT envy this task!!!!!!! Good luck, and god bless! lol!!! Hehe thanks Tataray - does take a while to edit them etc, but worth it. And one of the big reasons I like doing it is because I know everyone likes a pic of them riding their bike (not v often that opportunity comes around!)...and it's so much fun, and I love taking pics anyway . Will have to get someone to take a pic of me riding mine sometime!

Bank holiday ride Monday 25th May
BikerMooFromMars replied to RiffmasterII's topic in London & South East Rideouts and Meets
EDIT: Waaaah, I've only just seen this thread!!! We're not coming. Sorry guys - a mixture of it being a bit far (looks a similar distance or further than the Cambridge/Essex rideout we did in April and I was almost in tears at the end of it), and Fozzie having an op not that long after and doesn't want to tempt fate by doing a rideout. I'm going back to the doctors and gonna get the ball rolling with my knee issues (snoooore) again - it still isn't right after my op, I suffer a lot during and after rideouts - normally I'll just grin and bear it but with Fozzles having an op too not long after this, we're gonna leave it I'm afraid. Looks like I'll have to ask for that pillion ride another time Riffmaster! I did this earlier, so I'll leave it up for ya to see who is coming etc... Coming: Riffmaster Matt Strange Tataray KD79 WorminatorII Six30 Possibly; Kc9400 Joeman soll If someone can buy him a new bike; Glorian Also, Don't be ridiculous, I freaking love your accent and you know it -

Weyy, welcome to the forum Jools! And I didn't do much really - Tataray started it by wanting to meet up, I just suggested a day, a time that was good for me cos of my commitments before it and a location I knew that was a good middle ground haha ! Cheers Raabey/Phil for the route and well done all on a s-moo-th , real nice ride - the odd mis-turns quickly cleared up by Joeman and Riffmaster...was a great group effort all in all, and was loadsa fun, cheers guys! Sorry I didn't ride - I really wanted to originally - but wasn't really feeling like my usual self, was still feeling a bit raaah and away with the fairies after my crappy first driving lesson! The decider was riding to Rykas and my heart was still racing somewhat and wasn't enjoying myself. Tbf I really love sitting on the back of a bike taking pics anyway . Was fab to see you all, and meeting many for the first time too! Hope to see you all soon, and I may ride the next one...though really got to admit, I do enjoy taking the pics! And if Riffmaster joins us again, I am taking up the offer of riding pillion next time! Would like to meet up with Tataray another day for a ride and a coffee together sometime . Maybe try to keep next May bank hol Monday free? We can meet up earlier and ride further & make 2 stops if everyone fancies? And Rickaaaay can stay over the night before and/or after and join us on his new Ninja ! Took lots of pics - not as pretty as the last rideout due to overcast skies but got a good few nice ones - depending on work and how many driving lessons Fozzles gives me in the evenings - expect to see a trickle of pics appearing on another thread under the rideout pics section (I will link to it)...or I'll get em all up on the weekend Cheers lovelies http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/Rideout%2005%202015%20May%20Bank%20Hol%20Rykas/P1010880b%20cropped_zpsnmqnu6ou.jpg

Last time! Confirmed: Tataray BikerMoo Fozzie Joeman Perky80 Matt Strange Paul-Kent Raabey WorminatorII RiffmasterII KD79 And possibly coming but not sure : Mealexme Soll And yes, buggering off by 12:15 My driving lesson finishes at 12:30, will get kitted up and head off after with Fozzles. Be there for a burger, balloons and chat by 1:30 hopefully, if I don't faff too much . I think Chris is concerned my bike isn't going to make the rideout and is suggesting I ride pillion - I'm gonna risk it I think - unless there are any issues on the way to Ryka's - in which case I'll hop on the back of his Fazer for the rideout . Got a horrible clutch rattle when Ermintrude is warmed up - but at least my steering bearings are now sorted!

Weather looking good - woo hoo! So those coming along should be: Tataray BikerMoo Fozzie Joeman Perky80 Matt Strange Paul-Kent Raabey WorminatorII RiffmasterII Come along with a full tank of petrol - or we can all go somewhere to fill up first? What's best? I'd look into nearby petrol stations if it weren't such a mission to do this post on my phone!! Shall we aim to be there by 2pm (earlier if ya wanna burger, the caf can get pretty busy!), set off by about 2:15pm in case of anyone running a bit late/allow us to have a chat first? I bought normal balloons - look out for the purple haired muppet with balloons on their white CBF125 next to a taller Fozzlebags ( !) with a shiney dark blue FZ6! Try to park nearer the benches maybe? We know a couple of ya and will remember a few bikes, so shouldn't be too tricky. Soll you defo not joining us? Hope you are feeling better Matt - there's been a whole lot of lergy going around! Hope you can make it but no worries if not Alex. And would be great to have you stay for a rideout when you have your Ninja300 Rickaaaaay! Tango, only just seen your post - bless ya that's pretty funny!!! Sod's law! Posting on TMBF on your phone is hard work...and just found out what happens when you add smilies from your phone !!!

Yep, weather looking better! As long as it holds, will be there , pretty sure Fozzles is coming too. I am hoping to get a helium balloon today for tomorrow ...Depends what time I get back to Cambridge for (as long as shops are still open!). The bike pics are useful - will have a better idea of who to look out for... Of course, my hair is ridiculous - brown and purple... this was taken yesterday http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/2C19F047-775F-432A-A15E-77438A3E679A_zpsx7cf0qwn.jpg This is Ermintrude... http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/4B45D064-3712-4E14-A0A8-10FCE7DE8036_zps0t4lvftj.jpg And Fozzlebags on his bikey... http://i766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/BikerMooFromMars/Rideout%2004%202015%20Shandy%20Drinkers%20and%20Cambs%20TMBFers/P1010631a_zpsvlvagmua.jpg I think it will be my hideous textile jacket weather, or at least ots of jumpers under leather jacket weather . Looking forward to it though

Head there for as early as poss? I wanna (veggie) burger too - will try to get there early to guarantee burger time, but driving lesson before may prevent that...! May bring emergency snacks and have one after So just to confirm, peeps who are coming along are: Tataray BikerMoo Fozzie Joeman Perky80 Matt Strange Paul-Kent Raabey WorminatorII Soll Alex, can ya make it? Btw, the weather forecast has changed already!
-
We could always do another ride on the next bank hol Rickaaaaay! Omfg you're getting that Ninja 300 aren't you???? Arghhhh shooo much jealousy!!!!! But it isn't green... I'm always happy to ride as long as it isn't raining or crazy windy. And Raabey I would be more than happy for you to make us a route and lead - or we can do Sol's route - have you done that journey before? 2 hours max for the first one maybe would be good - sol's route is a nice amt of time...can do a longer one next bank hol if you guys fancy, and leave earlier than 2pm .
-
Hey lovelies. Right, so I suggested a day, time and place and am concerned the ride is falling on my head when I don't know routes/where to ride/anywhere that isn't around Sutton, Kingston or Central London ! Paul, having looked at it the suggestion for Worthing may be a little bit far when we are leaving at 2pm; if we stop for a drink at the cafe in Worthing we would get back to Rykas at the earliest 6pm - and that's if we went straight there and straight back via long straight boring A roads...and it's bank hol Monday will likely mean more traffic/busy everywhere: https://goo.gl/maps/rsMx4 Any ideas? I remember doing a job in Crawley from Sutton via a pretty odd route due to some main roads being closed and diverted through some really nice wind-y country roads...could go somewhere else from there...or somewhere else entirely? This is the current weather forecast btw...though I'm sure it'll be changeable this far in advance:
-
Nw, will try to sort this out before the weekend - I am gonna come home from Cambridge early on Sunday so Fozzles and I can do a dummy run before the meet . Phil, will probably pick your brains, and will look into that cafe in Worthing Paul . Woop! Any other takers? Will sort out a nice, scenic route with a stop-off before returning to Rykas (or thereabouts).
-
Would appreciate those routes please Phil, will have a look later, and at that cafe Paul/Matt. I don't mind tbh, happy riding for an hour or so, or longer at a time...has just been a while! Thanks for advice Cat and Alex, will get back to ya all properly later . Fingers crossed for good weather looks like we have a decent group of us going!

Ok, so thanks to newbie 125-er Tataray for suggesting a rideout meet in Surrey, it looks like we may have something on the cards now! Bank holiday Monday, 4th May: 2pm, meet @ Rykas Cafe. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Rykas/@51.255562,-0.322177,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x4875e6d4a1eca4a3:0x52aa859a4f4d673e I am literally the worst person to ask about the route however - I don't know where I am most of the time and couldn't tell you the numbers of any A roads I've been on since mooving to London except the A3 cos I never pay attention or follow a sat nav!! So if we could all pitch ideas for the route we will work something out . I personally prefer to ride a route in a circle and end up back at the same point or nearby-ish, if everyone else does? (So we don't end up riding really far away for some people). Looks like Rykas is a great middle-ground for most involved so far, and for those that don't know, v popular with bikers and there are likely to be shite loads of other awesome bikes there. I can do something to make my bike really obvious if you like and we can meet by it? ...maybe attach balloons or something haha! Let us know if you fancy joining, and route suggestions would be fab! Joeman suggested we follow me to set the pace as this will be a more laid-back 125 friendly ride, but I know that's a BAD idea haha! So I suggested following Fozzles as he sets a great pace for me often (with the occasional blast ahead on long straights, then waits for me to catch up). Shall we all stick together if possible for the rideout? What happens if there are traffic lights/riders get caught behind trucks etc? I'm not sure how to arrange a rideout tbh...the tagging system we used for the Essex/Cambridge rideout was great and no one got lost (can explain this on the day) - but any other suggestions are welcome. Really looking forward to this, finally a rideout I can join in on too ! Warning in adviance, I have clutch problems...there is a small possibility I could break down...in which case I would be happy for Fozzles to continue to lead the ride without me while I wait for breakdown people!!! Mostly or completely confirmed bikers so far: Tataray BikerMoo Fozzie Joeman Perky80 Matt Strange Paul-Kent

Fixed that for you Hahaha, I know I always say teef and toof, but usually only in my dental posts...saying it in general comments I thought might just make me look a bit too f**kin special (more so than usual!)
