  1. Saw this on fb and loved it. Shared with Mrs who was not as impressed,so looks like I'm going on my own!
  2. If I still had the like system I would have liked it too I 'like' this comment.
  3. I am interested! Just too bone idle to comment I use Google maps. Not fussed about traffic reports juts want to design my own routes which is a faff on google but find the voice directions good. Might try one of the other free ones at some point, but would prefer someone else just tells me if they're any good haha
  4. I'm going to be away this weekend so can't make it gutted

    What a week

Jesus! Glad you're alright, that could have been really nasty smash. Is your back ok? Most importantly will you be able to ride when (if) the sun comes out?
  6. Saw this the other day. Reminds you of the danger they put themselves in stopping on the side of the highway to help the public
  7. If the weather holds I'll probably come out of hibernation!
  8. What do you want it for? You tube or just general recording in case something happens? I've got an sj cam 5000. Does the job nicely for general recording, also got a car windscreen sucker so i use it in there too. If you want to you tube you need mic ports etc so want something a bit more expensive probably
  9. YOU CAN'T STOP NOW KEEP GOING
  10. I can't go on the site...I really enjoy these posts but if I go on your website I'll lose the whole weekend reading all of the posts in one sitting
  11. I expect if its cancelled they'll just take you on a lesson for the day - they won't lay up the bikes all day doing nothing - but expect a recharge to use the bike for the test. Check your contract but they don't control the weather or the test centre, they can't be held at fault because they cancelled your test, and I suspect your contract will back that up.
  12. Judging by the weather report I wouldn't fancy the cat and fiddle this weekend! I'd the pub sorted yet up there?
  13. I use paraffin too, and an old work places branded t shirt (that'll teach them to make me redundant! Lol) Cheap as chips down your local DIY store (support the local family shop!)
  14. Back to green today...maybe I did just catch it on a charge cycle. Odd how I've never happened to walk on while it was doing it before. Will muck about more on Saturday and make sure it actually starts and runs properly
  15. Are you???
  16. Dunno yet let's see what the battery and weather does before then! Latest report is there could be fresh snow on the hills over the weekend which will put me off biking pretty sharpish
  17. Thanks Joeman, it's a bit odd as I've never seen it before. Latest update was it went to 'battery weak' last night but then this morning it was back to charging and showing 12v... I'll have a play around at the weekend and see if it's holding charge, don't much fancy finding out a hours ride from home that it is indeed buggered and not just a charging cycle lol
  18. Seen various varieties of these and it's so on my list of things to buy!!!
  19. Yeah just seems weird when the bikes not moved in 3 months and never moved off green light... Will give it over night and see what happens!
  20. Ok I'm sure the bike can actually hear me! I have just been saying how annoying it is that all the sunny days have been during the week and if we get a half decent day this weekend I want to take the bike out for the first post winter ride....and she starts misbehaving Happened to walk through garage (bin day) and noticed the optimate had gone from maintain (green) to charge (blue). Switched it off and on (naturally, best way to fix anything) and now its gone to recovering (red). I've never even seen it go red! Usually bike sits on optimate at I think 12-13v (i never really looked that closely). Its now showing 10v and 0 amp....and thats supposed to be charging. It might have gone up from 10.2 to 10.9 (still 0 amp) - but that could have been me not reading it right the first time (too busy stomping round garage swearing) Havent got time to investigate further until Saturday...but does it sound like I've got a dead battery? Should I unplug the charger (not going to catch fire is it?!) Any thoughts before I get stuck in on Saturday? If it is battery...what do people reckon, best at Halfrauds with the trade card or go online?
  21. Not based in manchester any more but hoping to be over that way on the bike a fair bit more this year so gimme a shout
  22. Lesson cost will be as per normal das. Budget between 500 and a 1000 probably, imcluding exams, hard to say as you don't know how many lessons you'll get through and if you'll pass first time. Cost me around 1k as I loved learning so much I decided to fail mod 1 twice so I could have another go Riding school will have gear you can borrow but given its probably a bit nasty and battered it wouldn't hurt to at least get your own helmet and gloves as a minimum. This time of year you'll want textiles really so depends if you were planning to buy some or if you'll only be a fair weather rider after you pass
  23. Think I'll have one of these as well. Fair weather rider, so doubt I'll be needing it for too much rain, but if it helps with the flies that'd be good!
  24. careful as you might buy a 125, want to sell after 3 months and upgrade insurance to 600 and they either a) charge you a fortune to cancel the policy on the 125 b) charge you a fortune to change your bike details c) charge you a fortune for the new bike The insurers properly have you over a barrel, there's a few posts on here about it. I'm with the previous post, pass the cbt, do a few lessons on a 500 to keep your experience going and practice MOD1, then switch to 600 for a couple of lessons, then do the tests. 3 months will fly past. prepare on a 500, if you can do it on that, you'll be fine on the 600 as soon as you are 24. Probably save you a few quid for some bits when you buy your first bike
  25. Phone in pocket/tank bag with headphones (preferably bluetooth). Easiest power option is to get a usb adaptor or cigarette lighter to battery. Plenty of bike specific ones on evilbay
