  1. I best make myself a facebook account then ay! Despite being below 40 I'm still not a fan of this face collection malarky with "friends" that are often people ypou met once or know the name off. Will sort that and have a scope around Cheers gents
  2. Did my CBT on monday. Theory booked for the 10th July and Mod 1 booked for the 1st of August, Mod 2 2 weeks after hopefully I will update with the results......... It'll either be a video of a burnout or a rebooking confirmation
  3. Did mine the other day at RideSafe school in Bradford. They quikcly saw my competence and ability to follow instruction and got me out on the road by 11:30. Back and in my car for just after 1pm whilst the rest sat in a class room preparoing for the ride out. Turns out 20 years of driving a car and riding a push iron makes a CBT light weight baby
  4. Not quite the same but as a cyclist part of becoming a true lycra w**ker is falling over sideways at the lights / cafe becasue you've not approached at the correct angle and couldn't get the offending foot unclipped quick enough. I did this in spectacular fashion outside a cafe, falling through what felt like endless chairs whilst shouting OH BOLLOX only to be laid on my side moments later
  5. If you can't work from a manual I'd be asking a garage to do the work for me
  6. New here also. Seems pretty quiet but welcome
  7. Didn't realise this was a 7 year old thread.... I feel compelled to bump it now I've wasted my timne reading it all
  8. I wonder how many people actually jump oin the bike wearing little to no protective gear? I must admit if I was in sunny Spain I would end up nipping out in trainers and a T shirt occasionally. Stupid as it might be. I did some big miles on a push bike when I lived in the sourh of france and would frequently blast down the pyranees in nothing but a vest and the shortest shorts money could buy. Really not the wisest choice. Suppose its a case of "f**k around and find out"
  9. Noise is almost always a dirt issue, happens on all my bikes (leg driven) I give the pads and disc a once over with brake cleaner, then 1000 grade wet and dry to freshen the surface somewhat. I presume the same will apply to motorbike setups considering there almost identical
  10. 3.0 V6 Merc Vito FTW
  11. Whats thid fuel economy people speak of? I'm used to 20mpg in the car at best........ You bike guys habve it easy with these 30+ mpg bikes. I'm told mine should do 40 ish..... I haven't seen 40 mpg since the 90's
  12. Hi guys, in the process of doing my DAS and wondered if there were any active bike groups around the bradford area? The forum seems pretty quiet in this sub catagory but would be cool to get some miles in as a group and meet a few faces......As it stands I'll be a solo rider for the forseeable future
  13. If I had my licence I'd take him for free........ The ride wouild include the dirtiest burnout hes ever seen (child dismounted at this point)
  14. Luckily I was a kid with no money. If I had any serious income I'd of had neons and a race pipe on my 7bph monster. I remember getting smoked by my mates 900cc cincechento. My god did I pull my best race face for that launch off the lights
  15. Also be aware of Paypal charge backs. It's wise to refuse and paypal payments. If a buyer wants to pay cash meet them at your bank and pay it into your account, the bank/machine will obviously check the notes. If they refuse then you know it was dodgy.
  16. Bought a ALpine Stars padded jacket / hoodie. Looks pretty decent and feels relativley decent protection wise
  17. Will post some pics when the bike arrives and I've got the headers / decat on etc
  18. As soon as I saw the Marvel range the child in me had to buy it immediately. I'm also a cyclist so habe a good amount of km's out on the beautiful roads around here, it'll be awesome to cover some wider distances. Glad the bike choice wasn't fully daft. Both myself and the bike were sold the moment the guy started it up.
  19. Slid a 50cc bike across an Odeon carpark thinking I was cool at 16 "blasting" round Upon reflection I must of looked an idiot but in my head is was cool AF
  20. Anyone local to Skipton feel free to say hi, I've no friends into riding so this will be a solo endeavour for now
  21. I've possibly jumped higher that the crack of my arse and gone with a 2023 BMW F900R........ I figured at 37 and 20 years on the road I had the wisdom to be sinsible on a 100bph bike. I'm definatley not new to power, just new to bikes. Havent messed around with skimping on protection etc. Bought myself what I think is a cool AF Carnage HJC helmet, Frank Thomas AA jeans, Alpine Stars gloves, boots and jacket. The bike came with an Akrapovic (baffles will be removed immediately) and I have a decat and new headers on the way. Other than that the bike will likely stay standard despite my love for all things modified. I have a good history with detailing so the bike will likely get the full works weekely Bought myself what I think is a cool AF Carnage HJC helmet, Frank Thomas AAA jeans, Alpine Stars gloves, boots and jacket. BIkes getting delivered This coming monday so will post a few pics then.

    Ahoy

HI all. New rider, well I've not ridden since my youth when we had "estate licences" and when producers were still a thing, just passed my CBT (the 125 smell brought back some memories), theory test booked for the 10th and sorting my DAS asap. Figured I'd introduce myself and say hi. Lifelong petrol head. Called in to a bike dealer on my way past and ended up buying a bike....... Rather impulsive but it is what it is. Very excited to get out and about on the bike and enjoy what's left of our English summer. Will plan to take the bike down to spain next year possibly as I'm looking to buy a place out there.
