  1. Theres very little chance of getting robbed imo. CCTV is of little use. Main issue is fake notes, use an automated machine at the bank. Second issue is Paypal charge backs. I see no other threats.
  2. Maybe this is a stupid question but....... Why does the caliper need removing?
  3. Most I've found so far have silly excesses for any crash damage. Just waiting on a quote for an insurance policy covering track day damage costs etc. I can alomost 100% predict I end up binning it to some degree as a completley fresh rider with ZERO experince.
  4. My phone will also be staying in my pocket. I'd rather have an ear piece for audio sat nav prompts rather than my phone mounted up front. To each their own but just strikes me as distraction that I'd end up faffing with.
  5. The techical torque figure for a nut of that size and its use would be very tight plus a half turn imo "Most" torque figures can be judged by the size of said nut etc. I've seen very few M12 nuts that don't need a degree of welly to hit 30-40nm, the same with 3-4mm allen key heads, they'd be 6-10nm Just my opinion after a many years of home mechanics. The only really important torque figures are cylinder head bolts or bolts dealing with possibly delicate carbon fittings
  6. I didn't even know they existed. I will havea a google now. The original thread was originally going to ask about track bike rental but figured it was a stupid question. I'd much ratehr rent for a few days a year and avoid all the faff of me getting kitted out with race gear, a bike and a bloody van.
  7. Stared at the pic of it desperately wishing A. It was dleivery day and B. I had a licence
  8. I hate Paypal if oyu can't tell. What f**king logic for a payment processing service is it that the buyer can pop into their bank branch, tell a very vague lie and get their money back? Guy buys your bike. 6 months later goes into his bank and fills a form out claiming you never shipped said bike. Guy gerts money back. You then owe paypal said money and due to the bank taking priority and reversing the charge PAypal are now down and under no circumstances will they return any money. It could well bankrupt the average man in reality due to now not not having the bike money plus equal debt. f**k off Paypal with your literal broken service. The idea is by using paypal you don't need to trust each other, not that one party can immediatley rob the other person via a form at their bank. Cocks
  9. Strangley to get out of a speed wobble on a push bike you gently start to pedal whilst braking if needed.
  10. I'd go to a place in person and see how things fit tbh. I'm also new and wouldn't describe any of my gear as "normal" fitting in a high street clothing sense. I'm very glad I went in person as I now know anything I bought wouldn't of been great. £300 from my weeks shopping experience will get you the basics to a reasonable degree. I'm sure there will be suitable fits for you, bikers as a whole are not known for their slender, nor petit build.
  11. ID will make no difference in the case of a chargeback unless you plan to go to the persons house to get your money back. REmember they have 6 months to do said chargeback
  12. New to riding etc but have been thinking about a cheap track bike, mainly to give me an opportunity to get some experience on a bike that can go sliding through a gravel pit without me shedding a tear. I unfortunatley don't have a garage right now nor a van so this would include having to buy and insure a euro6 compliant van due to living near a stuid ULEZ city I have absolutley zero idea about any bike but figured a cheap 600 sports bike on road tyres The main gola here is learning and experiencing more advanced riding aspects that will translate to a better and safer understanding on the road when I ride more enthusiastically. Any inputs, thoughts or suggestions would be great
  13. I'd just park where everyone else is parking their vans. The fact you plan to sleep in the van will stop 99% or break in attempts once they hear "f**k off" Very few opportunists want to deal with an occupied van. They want unnattended vans with very few people / no one around
  14. Can you elaborate on the hollowed out aspect? Or a close up pic? Does it have a smaller hex body within?
  15. Ye also no idea but would like to hear a solution. 24mm hex you say? That's probably triple the size of any torx I've seen. A close up pic may help. I'm sure someone will have an answer shortly. I'd be inclined to find a workshop manual. This link allows acces to said maunal as far as I understand www.yamahamotorsports.com/yamaha-manuals Found from the link below which gives instructions https://fz10.org/thread/4343/2022-10sp-owners-manual-english
  16. Same in France. No truck allowed on sunday. The french also get out of the way or leave their indicator on to show they're also trying to get their foot down when the car infront moves. Works so well. Very good way to make "enthusiastic" progress
  17. I can't stand those *****..... I genreally out **** them and get them out the way sharpish
  18. Decat, headers, tail tidy and crash bobbins ordered. I will shed the most heart felt tear if I drop this bike.
  19. Remember also that the average road user is unfortunatley a retrad with very, very limited ability
  20. Oh there was genuinley a car park full of adult men who had driven to said CBT suddenly wobling round like children learning to ride a bicycle. I definatley understand I have yet to hone any skill on a motorbike whatsoever but were talking about a bike that weighs my bodyweight, could be put in a van by a single bloke without using aramp, with the power to eventually reach 50mph in its final gear and that within the confines of the taining ground could easily be out sprinted, braked and cornered by a man on a road bike. I was humble but certainly found the fear in these mens eyes hilarious
  21. Hopefully OP has made a decision considering the thread is 4 years old
  22. Any mention of "an agent" or Paypal stay well clear. A very easy way to check notes is to put them into the automated paying machine and if you don't want the money in your account just cancel once the machine has counted and verified all the notes. I'm sure they'd accept 4/5/6k
  23. Booked in for a 1 hour assesment on the 16th riding a 125cc and Mod 1 training on the 1st of August, 1st test booked for the 7th. Hopefully pass that first try and get the Mod 2 done and dusted sharpish. They have said they may have an extra hour or two spare to do some big bike riding just to get me used to the bigger bikes. I don't predict much of an issue. Assessment is mainly to judge my ability so we can decide if I need any extra time before the test. I'd be inclined to book a few hours regardless to really get things dialed in. despite my years of cycling I've yet to swing a leg over anything bigger than an average crosser 20+ years ago.
  24. Pretty much a time based task. Want to cut things short and save time? Accept a lesser mirror finish...... Happy to dedicate some time and graft? Get rewarded with true mirror finish A bench polisher will save you days of work. Can get them from screwfix etc pretty cheap. Stick a polishing wheel on and get some quality compounds. For smaller items a dremmel is great. Your comounds are of great importance. You wont just be able to use a rough grit paste. Actual finishing compounds will make that next level finish.
  25. Pack mentality / competiveness is a quick licence looser. I'm terrible at ignoring a chance to have a blast when the situation arises. Even in an average car its all too easy to be doing over a ton
