  1. Stainless decat and headers arrived today. Should mate up nicely to the akrapovinski exhaust (I'm aware of the correct spelling but this is the most European sounding company this side of Putins bedside table) Build quality seems pretty good. We'll see how accurate it fits etc on Monday when the bike arrives. The brand is black widow. You guys don't seem to have any journal or log sub catagory so I'll be updating my various stages of progress here
  2. Just something else to give us points for
  3. Just arrived? As in the country? Welcome. I'm new to and have quickly racked up the grand figure of 71 posts asking all manner of possibly obvious questions along with a range of stupid statements, its the internet, there will always be more stupider.......
  4. No I bought it online but have had helmets in the past including quite a few mountain bike full face so knew how things should be. I'm happy with it, especially the pin lock internal visor. I don't know when they were invented but they work amazingly. No amount of my sex offender breathing manages to fog it up
  5. I'm definatley not against them nor arguing they don't have their place. I now own a pretty decent pair of Teng wrenches (accurate to +/- 4%) due to having the money nice for tools I rarely use. My only point was men in sheds have survived without them for as long as we can remember. I actually enjoy faffing with them regardless of being able to judge it correctly. I even have a tiny one for the various carbon road bike fittings jus to make myself feel like a scientist (yes I'm a big kid) Will OP's wheel fall off without one? Probably not. Should he grab one if money allows to ensure his judgement isn't far out? Certainly
  6. Ordered a few bits....... Sat with my helmet on for an hour or so to make sure its comfy before my opportunity to return it passes, very happy with it.
  7. Is it sensible to use the center stand whilst out and about then? I do have both and getting the bike on the center stand only seems to take a moments more effort

    Hello all

Figured I'd give you a HI and a bump. Quiet forum despite the exhibition of dogs riding motorcycles
  9. Could you elaborate for the new riders here? My bike is circa 220kg for refference reguarding my query
  10. These 35mm "photos" are a blast from the past that many a rider will presume are "insta filters"
  11. Dear great assigner of numbers..... Can I get what ever number is left please? I'll take anything going ....as is life haha
  12. Everytime I see a trike I just wonder why they don't just drop the windows and sunroof of their car and retain all the benefits of a car considering they choosing all the restrictions of a car whilst also sacrificing all the benefits of a bike apart feeling the wind.
  13. A damn sight better looking than most franken-trike builds I've seen. Pretty slick albeit not for me
  14. This IMO providing the user is experienced. I'v never known a wheel nut on a car to be torqued up by ANY professional in all my days. And yes I understand that correct values are given also to avoid damaging components as w ell as to avoid them falling off
  15. Oh I'm not suggesting their excess is unreasonable, it's just a charge that I'd get insurance to cover. This is partially why I'd consider buying something cheap as paying said excess quickly equates to me buying my own bike if I'm going to run out of skill like I predict.
  16. I bought my 3 year old a £30 one off amazon. I immediatley went home and started shopping for RC speed boats. So much fun I never knew existed.
  17. Hopefully OP has sollved the issue during the 4 years since he posted
  18. I got most of my new gear just by ordering the pages online by lowest cost and grabbing sales items. Put myself a decent outfit together for £260 and paid £250 ish for qa helmet. COnsidering hte cost of some riding gear, a full, good quality set for £500 all in is great IMO. Also for refference I found a BMW F900R far, far cheaper on insurance with Lexham. Definatley worth checking Lexham out (I get the example bike isnt within your licence catagory as I'm doing DAS at 37)
  19. I second J&S accessories. Great staff imo, very helpful and chilled
  20. For reference car wheel nuts need 110-120nm
  21. As I say, the ability to just do it to feel comes with experience. That figure roghley matches how much effort I'd put in for such a sbnstanatial fitting. You'd also get a feel for how tighht it needs doing by the effort required to un-do it.
  22. Do you know the NM required? I'm only asking for my own reference to learn.
  23. From ym car background I'd say no unless your getting into engine building. MAybe the bike guys know sometings I don't but IMO experience generally builds the ability to judge the torque by the fittings application. If you new to mechanics you may not have this experience. £25 for one that gore sup to 110nm. Bare in mind cheap ones will also be just a rough guide https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/amtech-3-8-torque-wrench-553774750
  24. Makes zero difference IMO as long as the cash is legit. ask chat GPT to write you a basic sale reciept, check the cash and all is fine
  25. Good to know thanks. I'm working with years of car wrenching combined with mountian bike knowledge.
