  1. Michelin PR3 for me too - 14,000 on them now and look OK.
  2. Oh shit mines just picked up the latest update this morning.
  3. Lots of good anchors out there, main thing is to fit them properly, but the weak point in the system is usually the chain itself, there are very few that cant be cut through with proper cutter, not to mention the lock itself. Nothing will stop a really determined thief who's specifically come for your bike, and most basic defences will deter a casual thief looking for an easy target.
  4. Don't forget when you buy on finance the lender also has a legal responsibility for the goods being as described etc., and will put a lot of pressure on the seller for you.
  5. I'm working Saturday, but if you want to do the Wall I can recommend it, a great day out and quite moving at the Wall .

  7. I personally tested a Caberg helmet to destruction and I'm still here telling you about it.
  8. I'm good for Sunday and the weather forecast is good. We could meet locally, I'm in Stockport and I guess you're Didsbury/Burnage/Levenshulme area. Tescos car park somewhere is usually an easy landmark to find. I'll message topper and we could meet him at J&S and head on from there. How does 10.30 sound?
  9. Haven't you got a six year old in the house? They'll probably do it in seconds. Or do what I did, marry a techie.
  10. just noticed this post - ignore my pm, I haven't got enough time tomorrow to do Wales, maybe another Sunday if we get enough decent weather.
  11. Been working today, weather looks good for Monday. Want to visit J&S anyway to look at BMW there
  12. Need to have a moan and you lot got elected. My mother -in -law is 83 now with lots of health problems, one of which requires her to self inject if a "crisis" occurs, except that she can no longer manage to do this herself, so we have to run round and do it. As a pharmacist, this always falls to me, and many of you may relish the prospect of sticking needles in your mother- in - law at regular intervals, but when the phone rings at 11.30pm and you get home at 1.30am after shes stable, it makes Tuesday a long day. Today wifey was on the phone to her mum when there was a knock at her mums door, so she put the phone down to answer it and my wife heard the fall and the scream. That was 4pm today, I got the call about 4.15. Broken femur mid-thigh, surgery tomorrow to pin it. Left hospital 9.15 picking up chippy on the way home. Knackered now, bed soon, wifey still phoning round family to keep them informed. Don't know whats going to happen at weekend as they'll probably kick her out by Thursday/Friday but she cant go home, wont be able to get upastairs to bed. She might end up here for 6 weeks. May go to sisters place but thats not ideal either, although they have bigger house and may be able to sort out a bed downstairs. Must go to bed soon, but shes still on the phone!!!
  13. Been twice, last time for bridge competition 7 years ago. Minimal risk unless in occupied west bank or northern areas, and even then no worse than a lot of places in Europe or round the Med nowadays. Foreign nationals not normally targeted, unlike in many tourist areas where the terrorists want to damage the tourist trade to ruin the economy. Go, learn, enjoy.
  14. Sorry cant help with that one. Saw the successor to the DS - cant remember what they called it but I was at a footie match and they drove one round the pitch at half time with one wheel missing to prove how stable it was, although they did have a model sitting on the bonnet on the corner opposite the missing wheel. Naturally we all had a good look at the car as it came round and ignored the model in her scanties reclining across the front. It was actually another suberb advanced car, horrendously expensive, unreliable and incredibly rare in this country.
  15. The cars a Citroen DS estate commonly known as the Safari. It was years ahead of its time with pump up suspension superb performance and comfort unfortunately came with citroens reputation for reliability and huge costs for repair if anything went wrong. Used as ambulances on the continent, and by the government for official cars for ministers etc.
  16. We put up a prefab sectional garage and had the outside rendered by special plasteres who put a brick coloured stippled top layer of plaster before it was fully dry, then cut a brick pattern through the top coat so it now looks like a brick built garage.
  17. Best of luck, never give up. Better his bike than yours, although knocking him off too was a bit harsh. After I passed Direct Accesss, as it was then, I bought an immaculate 1 yr old bike, went to work on it on the Monday, then dropped it in front of everyone at hometime when they're all lined up to watch me ride off!
  18. Any idea yet when they'll be in North Wales/NW England ?
  19. Hi and welcome. You are only allowed to reduce the power output of a bigger bike by maximum 50%, so thats out, but I'd hate to try riding a 300k plus monster like that with so little power anyway.
  20. I'm quite surprised as when my sons learnt the increase was pretty small, I remember being pleasantly surprised but was also warned that when they actually passed it would cost a lot more, and it worked out at over £1000 extra. Apparently all Saabs are sports cars, even automatic estates. It worked out cheaper to run and old banger for the pair of them and a lot more convenient.
  21. Charger for cordless drill/screwdriver has failed, and of course all Bosch stuff have slightly different batteries and chargers so the battery wont fit into the charger for the hedge trimmers. The 2404 charger is about £15 + postage on the net but all the pics show it with a 2 pin shaver type plug so presumably from Europe. I've also found an adaptor listed but its not clear which one it plugs into or which one you can plug into it. Unless its clever enough to be universal? Anyone had this problem and solved it or got any advice?

    Brake lock up

I'm no expert but I thought the whole idea of braided hoses was to firm up the brakes, so you'll have to learn a gentler touch to stop locking up the back. Remember if the front is biting more you'll get more dive so the back gets lighter and locks up easier.

    Day out...

Grrrr. Why are all these things on Saturdays. Less people work on Sundays - including me.
  24. I was reduced to a Friar Tuck fringe all round since my 20's, took a razor to the leftovers about 10 years ago. Much easier, cleaner look and nobody knows how grey I am.
