grunthorpe replied to johnakay's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
ex army gortex over trousers from eBay! I got a pair for about 15 quid and they work a treat. Yes I look a bit silly in my camouflage trousers but I'm dry so don't care!! Look for the Ex-Police ones, they are black gortex instead of Camo Or RAF ones are navy blue (yes, yes I know ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Yeah it's a boom mic, is there like a small type you can hide away somewhere? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Radio Headsets

Sorry, I should have clarified, the mic is the bit that caused the main issues, there's no room for it anywhere, the speaker sticks into the gap where my ears go fine, but it's all one unit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Good morning all, A friend and I recently bought radios with those headsets with a sticky pad speaker a mic that's supposed to hide behind your cheek pads. The problem is, my helmet is such a snug fit, that this solution doesn't really fit inside my helmet no matter what I do. Has anybody here experienced this problem? Is there a less bulky option? (I'm expecting there's something really obvious and I'll look stupid Cheers, Nick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That is why I suggested Marmalade. Did you look at it? You do not cancel your current policy, this is a bolt on policy Yeah I did thanks, the new policy I'm looking at only comes to about £30 extra a month, appreciate the tip though, will keep that in mind for future reference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for all your help everyone, turns out compare the market could give me a much more reasonable quote, was sort of hoping I wouldn't have to cancel the insurance I got last month Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good morning all, So I just tried to add my (learner) sister to my car insurance. I have a 1200cc Ford Fiesta. Apparently the car is too big and scary for them to insure her so they offered me a new policy with a different underwriter at about a 350% price increase. I kindly told them to sod off. So my question is, can my sister take out her own insurance with a different company on the same vehicle? As usual Google seems to be woefully unhelpful on the subject but you guys seem to have a really broad knowledge base. Cheers, Nick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My bike manual specifically says to ride off immediately and do not leave the bike to warm up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Used mine in Cyprus and then loaned it to my sister so never noticed this issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Good choice, I have that jacket and it's spot on. The vest is a sort of wind proof under layer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

J & S Accessories experience?
grunthorpe replied to a topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Got one here near Oxford and the guys are always friendly and helpful Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Ditto, especially as most people didn't even consider him relevant immediately after the war

You're obviously in a line of work where BM has a very different meaning than it does to me

Pay & Display Ticket Holder
grunthorpe replied to Albrynmair's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
The pay by phone in Oxford is actually really good, it even sends you reminders and lets you top up your parking. Shame it's not worth paying to park there in the first place although there is one very central car park with free bike parking anyway -
The Rossi fanboys are going to be all over that one like a rash! I almost rose to this but managed to calm myself down lol

Somebody stop him

Yesterday I was driving in the middle lane, overtaking traffic in the left. A car thundered up behind me and started flashing his lights and beeping behind me. There was no room to pull in on the left and the right lane was clear, so not exactly sure what his problem was couldn't he just... Overtake?

I've got an RC125 if you want some input from me, although I haven't seen a single person on one except me since I came back to the UK!

Which lane at this crazy roundabout?
grunthorpe replied to mikedz's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Just so you know you're not alone, there is a roundabout in Oxford where some of the lanes just disappear half way around the roundabout
