  1. As some of you know, last Septembeer I had an off which resulted in the bike being written off. I bought the bike back off of the insurers as it was only cosmetic damage. I am almost in a position to get it back on the road.

How do I find out what catagory the write off was. Cat D or Cat C

Also, will I need any kind of special MOT or safety check done before I can put it back on road?

Thanks as always guys ... looking forward to getting on two wheels again.

  2. So I am on my way to work minding my own business when this taxi decides to turn right into a driveway with no warning. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

Before I know it I am being blue lighted to hospital where they inform me I'll be in the operating theatre before the day is out. Tibia plateau fracture needs a plate to hold three pieces of my tibia together. Now I am home in agony and looking forward to the 8 - 12 weeks totally off my feet and a further God knows how long in physio.

In that split second my list of firsts are:

    Accident

    ambulance ride

    blue light

    in hospital

    broken bone

Bike is a right off but thankfully, before I even left hospital, his insurance company called me and admitted total liability. Now to see how much of a payout I'll get! Bike is a rite off and I'm off work for a minimum of three months.

  3. Should be OK.

But you can go on the Givi web site and down load the fitting instructions if you're in any doubt.

Already fitted JRH. Not a problem with that. Just want to make sure that the plate will join the two before I shell out the £35 for it. I am fairly certain it will but, just want to be sure.

The plate should fit the rack and the box will fit as it is monolock and the plate will fit the arms. See below.

This Givi M5M Monolock Plate, is designed to fit on to various motorcycle specific racks including Givi Monorack FZ Kits so that a Givi Top Box can be fitted.

The Givi M5M Monolock mounting Plate is made from Nylon and supersedes the traditional Monolock plate which had an adjustable joint. This new system offers improved sturdiness whist remaining simple and easy to build or disassemble. This plate includes various nuts, bolts, washers and blanking caps.

    Appreciate the confirmation.

  4. Anyone know anything about GIVI equipment?

I have a B47N top box which I bought for my ZZR and don't really want to waste its use - sat in the garage looking pretty at the moment. Anyway, I got a rack for my FZ1 for under £50 and fitted it to the FZ1 assuming that the plate on the ZZR would fit ... dumbass me! I have been looking around and found a plate that I think is good to match the two but the seller appears to be reluctant to answer my question!

    Details:

    I have a GIVI B47N topbox - I believe this is monolock

I have 365FZ rack fitted to bike and I am looking to buy the M5M plate which if I understand correctly will accept all monolock boxes - The B47N - and fit to the 365FZ rack I have fitted.

Can anyone confirm or clarify this please?

    Cheers as always guys.

  5. Hi guys ... I am off to Manchester tomorrow and decided to give the bike a quick once over today instead of weekend - oil, water light etc

I noticed the plastic water bottle a little low, not majorly, above the min line but no where near the max line. I decided to remove the radiator cap to top up as instructed on the internet! (assuming that's right) but the radiator appears to be full. I can feel the water if I put my finger in the hole. - come on guys stay on track here.

Now I am a little worried that there might be a blockage somewhere. I don't have time to deal with that before my Manchester trip and I have to go and have to take the bike.

    Any thoughts?

  6. But how big is the bag you want carrying through customs?

Seriously awesome offer pal, hopefully someone will take it up :thumb:

Haha ... only their own bags mate. I have got a mate who has joined me. He offered to buy all the beer while there. I told him it was all inclusive and he hasn't stop thanking me since.

Lol ... better than going alone. It cost him £50 to transfer ticket. Everyone's happy!

  7. Seriously, I am going to Greece on 27th June for a week. All paid for but the person I was going to go with cannot go now.

Anyone interested in a FREE, well, apart from the ticket transfer fee, holiday. Holiday is all inclusive so all you'd have to pay for is the ticket transfer fee and get to Bristol airport.

Anyone interested in joining me PM and I'll give you more details.

  8. How do I say this? ... You're a knob!

My last effort to help then, I'm beginning to feel as though my efforts aren't appreciated. I must say, the brief was confusing to say the least. I hate being self-employed.
