We could do a charity ride.

    Twats are us.

Scenic not so bimble around the wastelands of East Yorkshire.

We could get lost. Fall off whilst stationery at traffic lights.

All whist wearing normal bike related attire. CE approved or not.

Bikes could range from super duper fire blade to a 125.

And guess what. No one would give a shite as we are bikers and not sodding hipsters who ride a bike as a fashion accessory.

    Rant over

Don't forget that we can cream off a nice chuck for ourselves for "administration" purposes. ;-)

  3. I used one of those bottles on my old V70.

The condenser let go at some point in the process and dumped the lot in a big chuff of a cloud. Scared the shit out of the neighbours kids. :thumb:

I put a new condenser on it and had a bloke come and fill it up. I think it was about £40. It lasted a few months before it leaked out so I didn't bother again.

£1700 running and mot but needed some paint doing, been online for a few hours and when I rang to place a deposit the seller taken a deposit, I’m next in line but doubt I’ll get that lucky!

You can have mine for £1700. I'd even put an MOT on it!

Ohhh don't start about the lovely travelling community they are much maligned twats 😁 mostly deservedly.

I was once offered a fight in lieu of payment, it wasn't a big amount either, I will not entertain doing anything for them and avoid like the plague.

    Fair go or dirty go?

  6. My nomination today goes to my local garage. I picked up a massive screw in my tyre this morning so went straight there to get it plugged.

Unfortunately, the f**kwit who mounted the tyre scratched the rim to bits.

All the wheels were stripped and recoated last year so I was quite pissed off.

the garage guy said "oh yeah, well run flats can be difficult". I told him that if he wasn't confident then he shouldn't have attempted the job!

Anyway, they agreed to have it re-done. What made then £30 ended up costing them £70 because of a kak handed ape.

This looks good! It might come in handy for me actually. Got some family in France...

Throttle locks are turd. I had one on the Golding which needed constant fiddling to maintain a speed. Any change in the environment such as road level or wind meant it needed adjustment.

As has been said, try relaxing a bit. I barely grip the handlebars at all unless I'm giving it the beans and even then it's still a light touch.

Absolutely. On track, where best lap times are the target. Saving 0.1 second per bend on the road is pretty pointless in my view.

I’m generally of the “brake in a straight line, get your speed for the bend before turning in, slow in, faster out” opinion*. There is a place for going into a bend on a closed throttle - some tight downhill bends in the Alps spring to mind. I have experimented with trail braking on the road after watching the Bret Tkacs video on the subject and I felt no clear advantage.

    * and if you’ve misjudged it then you have some leeway for speed adjustment.

I guess the thing about road riding is you can't always see round the corner or be reasonable confident that there's not shite all over the place.

  9. I don't know when I started doing it as like MB I was taught to do all the braking before entering a corner, do the cornering bit then get on the throttle when all straightened up. The safe way I guess.

Getting on track highlighted to me that making progress means you either have to be braking or accelerating. Easing off the brakes to the apex then gently getting on the throttle made my lap times tumble. Both on a bike and in a car.

Yeah it was after and I don't think you actually warned me! you both just started ranting on about issues!

No advice was given to steer me away

Well you'd already bought the bloody thing by that point!

Anyway, you've got your new starter motor so hurry up and get it fixed, you're giving the rest of us a bad name!

  11. Buy BMW they said, it'll be the best car in the universe - performance, handling, unrivalled build quality... now with it's arse scraping the floor!

Apparently the air bags tend to go every 5 years. Guess how old it is now.

Oh, this is the one that had the ceramic coating by the way - f*cking spotless innit.

  12. My car was coated as part of it's pre-purchase valet.

That was about 14 months ago and now it looks a bit shitty. Now, I haven't actually washed it but was told it would come up like new when I turned a hose on it.

My logic says: rain = hose down - effort.

I'm not going to go to the effort of getting the hose out but I'm fairly sure it's not going to gleam if I did so.

I like public transport. It frustrates me that it is cheaper to take a private vehicle, excluding cost of owning one. Thing is when you have to already own one it is cheaper to drive than take public transport.

Have you tried catching a bus in Denmark?

It's cheaper to go everywhere by taxi!

Wheeled the Honda outside to turn it around so I can get the front wheel out while its tucked up under the bench.

Fired it up for the first time in a year or so, even though the battery was flat it started, try that with an efi bike.

Considering its 51 years old, it still sounds like a sewing machine.

Might be the last picture of the Cavalier, should be selling it next Saturday after 17 years of ownership.

    Is it a special Cav?

I had to pretty much give mine away!
