    Re-chroming costs

If you're feeling brave you can DIY... http://www.gaterosplating.co.uk
  3. We've looked in to it before - the whole track can be hired but it's big money. It's probably more feasible to do just a session numbers wise.
  4. Only one way to find out!
  5. If... If we could arrange enough people to take over a whole track, it would be hilariously fun to have a "track inappropriate" bike group. I'd give you a race on my shitty old 750 Stu.
  6. They guy who lives there at the mo said he got a shed load (literally) for tiny money because of the ash tree disease. We have loads of stuff delivered on pallets at work so that might be an option so long as they're not treated with anything.
  7. Yes. It would be awesome to get a whole track (or at least a group) for TMBF.
  8. I use my own. I used my road bike to start with but as I did more and got more daring, I decided to get a track only bike - I checked out rental bikes but they're so expensive that the price of my track bike was covered after only a few track days.
  9. That looks almost exactly like my old one. It's not a C-reg is it?
  10. Ooh, get you with your M&S gear! I wear my old ski stuff from Mountain Warehouse. Nice and toasty BUT it's really easy to overheat a bit and because they're not very breathable, you end up stinking.
  11. Covered all the bases so yeah, I'm a fan.
  12. Can you not leave it on the bike and bring the water to it? I'd rather stick it on the stand and get a washing up bowl/similar under the wheel than take the thing off.
  13. Cheers for the thought guys! The tank is down the side of the house behind a couple of decent looking locked gates so security should be alright. Looking at oil prices now, the cost to fill should be in the £550 region. There's also an electric shower in the main bathroom and a wood burner in the front room so there's non oily options if things go a bit tits up!
  14. The new house has got one and I'm wondering if they're as costly as some people say. I've heard people say it can cost ~£500 to heat the water in summer. So... What have you got (combi or water tank)? And Does it cost billions to run?

    Cg 125 headlight

    Yes.
  16. Not got a buckled wheel have you mate?
  17. Drill holes and use the supplied bolts.
  18. Do a VIN check in any one of the on-line tools.
  19. The same way you ask the mrs if she wouldn't mind awfully cleaning up her skid marks in the bog rather than leaving them for everyone else to admire.
  20. Black wire in the middle connector, red in the right. To measure voltage, stick it to 20V (to see if there's anything coming from the feed wire to the indicator). To measure resistance, you'll need it on 200Ohm - about 6 o'clock (to measure the resistance of a wire/bulb etc or find if you've got an iffy connector). You can extend the wires with... another bit of wire. The only thing you'll have to be mindful of is that if you've got it on Ohm then you'll need to account for the additional resistance of said bit of wire. You don't have to use the battery -ve, any bit of bare metal on the frame should do.
  21. I use Racechrono on the track - you can link it to gyro and whatnot but as yet I've not been arsed.
  22. Shims aren't that bad - a couple of quid a pop from wemoto.
  23. I'm with Joeman on this one... Backpacks are okay for carrying sarnies to work but if I've got a bit of weight in it or have to do a good few miles then it gets bungeed to the pillion seat.
  24. Joeman - I soldered some of the bulbs but some just wouldn't take so they got the trusty scotch block. My "universal bulb holder" is about 6" of hose pipe (other pipe is available) with a slit cut in one end, in to which the bulb body is jammed. The other end is screwed to the joist. This allows a good range of movement by rotating it around the screw or wedging some pipe lagging or similar behind it. Fozz - The as-yet unrealised part of the plan is to have a roaming light on the same circuit but independently switchable - probably with some sort of magnety clamp attached to a really long retractable cable coming from the centre of the middle joist. The longest USB cable I can find is 6' which isn't really long enough and the "proper" retractable lighting rigs are muchos deniros!
  25. GU10 I said, MR16 I meant (oops)! I found all mine on Amazon - £5-10 a pop for the 4W+ wide angle types.
