  1. That's looking nice buddy. Some nice shiny springs on the back of the seat would deffo be a sweet touch. All these choppers/bobbers we've had lately makes me want to buy an OCC t-shirt and do one myself!

    Have you tried spraying carb cleaner/WD40 around and in to the carb while it's cranking? Also, was the plug wet and are any of the vacuum hoses split/perished?
  6. I take: Fold up chair, 12ish litres of fuel (on top of a full tank), some tools, foot pump, pressure gauge, zip ties, food and drink. On a hot day I avoid changing out of my leathers between sessions because they're not always easy to get back on when they're drenched in sweat. Lunch time I sit about in shorts and catch some rays.

  9. These went on my ZXR750 track bike a couple of weeks ago to replace the Dragon SC that it came with. I don’t know how many days the old ones had done but they were from 2008 and had started to get some scary looking cracks on the wall. They didn’t look particularly worn even though I did a few days on them myself and regularly use the bike for commuting. I’ve heard people say that they get hundreds of miles out of them before they need replacing but given I’d done a few hundred on track and probably a couple of thousand on the road, I think it’s a bit of a fallacy. I can’t say enough good things about these - with SC1 on the front and SC2 on the rear I’ve never felt such a good tyre. I honestly thought the Bridgestone BT016 were good but the Supercorsa blow them out of the water. In the dry these are fantastic, super levels of grip from edge to edge with a decent bit of warning to let you know they’re near the limit. I used these for a week of commuting (~50 miles) before taking them on the track and I had no problems whatsoever with slipping and sliding. On the road these are great, loads of feedback and hugely confidence inspiring. They’re nice and warm (sticky to the touch) after my mammoth 5 mile commute so anything after that is game on! They’re not great in the wet though because they’re pretty much slick in the middle of the tread. I have used them in the wet and didn’t have any problems but I was aware that they are predominantly a dry tyre so took it quite easy. On track these are even better and warm up after a lap or two (I don’t use tyre warmers). They’re quite forgiving and let you hold your line at silly lean angles. These are easily better tyres than I am a rider, when getting on the power early at Agostini at Snetterton the rear just starts to slide out but keeping on the power saw me hammering out of the corner like a boss! Even when I out braked myself coming up to Brundle and took an unplanned excursion, the front held fast while I was hard on the brakes and the back wheel was well in the air. All it gave me was a bit of a squirm to let me know I was getting near the limit. In fairness, this was probably due to the extra heavy pie I had at lunch, not any sort of misjudgement on my part. For £340 these are expensive but worth every penny for those who want super sticky rubber and have few wet riding days.   10. I put PR4 on my ZX6r a couple of months ago to replace the ageing Bridgestone BT016 tyres. I spent ages dilly-dallying about, wondering if I should go for these or the Pilot Power as I wanted something that would suit my riding style and look the part. After reading the reviews and talking to a trusted bike mechanic I took the plunge. I was concerned that they would be a bit too sports tourer for my liking but having done ~1.5K mile on them in various road conditions I’m really glad I got them. Dry grip is very good through the lean angles – easily enough for a bit of knee down action. I’ve only given them some real stick once, about 500 miles in and they stuck like glue. Not even the slightest wobble or slide through the corners - the bike feels really nimble, planted and flicks from side to side very easily. They don’t heat up super-fast but after 10 miles or so they’re good to go. Wet grip is soooo much better than the Bridgestones – very confidence inspiring! There’s plenty of feedback under braking and I’ve yet to feel the back start to go while pushing out of a corner. I’ve only used these on the road so far so can’t comment on their track ability but I reckon they’d make a good wet tyre given their multi compound construction, tread pattern and wet grip levels. My only slight (and I mean slight) niggles are that due to the tread pattern, the front squirms a bit under very heavy braking and with the OEM pressures they can feel a bit skittish on the motorway in high winds.   11. How do you find the knee sliders sit? I move mine down so they're pretty much hanging off the Velcro bit but they're still too bloody high and the plastic slider part comes away from the fabric bit after a while.

  13. Wot Tango dun said. I use HH pads on mine and am happy with them. They've got plenty of feel in them and stand up well to a day at the track. Easily grippy enough to lock the front up after a quick session and fine to use on the road.
  14. I had quotes around the £100-120 mark for a single day when I enquired. Don't know what the variables are, if any, that will affect the price. It's probably worth it for a newer, shiny bike but mine's old and crusty so I don't bother (famous last words).
  15. Yeah, that looks a bit good for guff stickers. Can you not whip it down the body shop for a touch up?
  16. I've got some stickers in my toolbox if you want them - Shoei and Renthal ones I think. Yours for the price of a stamp.

  18. Yeah, Rockingham sounds great. To be honest, I'd not really thought about it before but I'd like to pay a visit at some point this year. Who are you using in August?
  19. I've never had a jacket shrink on me - even after using it day in, day out in the rain. Don't be tempted to dry it quickly on a radiator or something as they can go a bit crispy and you'll end up having to spend hours gently massaging nikwax in to it.

  21. What's wrong with silicone? That's what I use. Makes it all air tight then clogs itself with carbon. Loads easier to get apart than exhaust sealant.

    That deffo sounds resonancy. I had almost exactly the same thing on mine which came and went depending on how much fuel I had - it was the seam of the tank just touching the frame. I opted to shim the tank up at the mounts a few mm and it cured it.

    You can test an injector - you need a rig that can apply the appropriate pulse train, a beaker and some accurate scales. Or you could do a swaperoo with an known good one and see if the misfire moves... If it's dodge then chuck it in a sonicator.
