  1. Do you not remember the experiment I ran a while back? The ethanol percentage needs to be significantly higher than that in normal fuel to have an impact on rubber parts etc.
  2. Is the process for a FAC pretty straight forward? I'm vaguely toying with the idea of joining the local club for target stuff so I'm interested in what you need e.g. cabinets/costs etc.
  3. Could you make up a load of resin and swirl it about the inside of the old one? You'd lose a bit of capacity but so long as you cleaned it thoroughly you should get good adhesion and be petrol-tight.
  4. Shame on you Tuk. I'm going to come round to your place and swap your ZX6r for a C50. If you can't carry all your stuff then simply; you have too much stuff!
  5. I'm with you now. You'd never guess I've got a physics A-level would you. Cheers Al!
  6. Silly question Al: Why does the dash light have to be changed to LED - is it for preventing reverse current? If so, could a diode not be used in series instead?
  7. I used Autoglym glass cutter on the screen of the Goldwing which was ridiculously badly hazed and oxidised. Cleaned up a treat.
  8. Have you checked the pricing of powder coating? It's cheaper than you might think, especially if you're not in a hurry - they can often tack it on the end of another job.
  9. Happy birthday chaps!
  10. You can't blame them really, they probably have a man who does that for them - must have been on his day off.
  11. Blimey TC - sorry you're suffering matey. All the best for a decent recovery.
  12. Today it's me - I thought I had another week on the MOT but it ran out today. Plus my normal guy seems to have shut up shop so it's off to find a new place...
  13. How confident are you feeling now then? Nowt wrong with being the fastest in the noddy group although it can be a bit tiresome getting stuck in traffic but it is a boost knowing you're spanking everyone else! However, I doubt it's very much fun being the traffic in inters but you'll probably pick up your pace quicker with a higher tack speed and people to follow. Brands isn't anywhere near complex so if you know which lines to take then you should be able to hold your own pretty well.
  14. Has anyone had their licence checked when in the likes of Majorca and hiring a [strikeout]deathtrap[/strikeout] scooter? Nothing 20 euros or so won't fix...
  15. Alwite Nick. Different people take different periods to get comfy. You may only have half the brakes on a bike as a car but they are waaaay more powerful weight for weight. Stick with it on the pan and build up the road time - there's no rush and no point if it's not fun!
  16. Or just go in to any bookies, casino or greyhound track and look at the bleak desperation in the eyes of the hardened gambler as they place the children's dinner money on "the one" that'll bring home the goods. Then lose.
  17. Do they still do camping then? Might be an option if they've got showers and whatnot.
  18. Testicles - missed out on Snet on 3rd. Looks like Cadwell on 10th instead. Anyone know of a B&B/hotel nearby that: a) is cheap, b) has somewhere I can stick my car/trailer combo without it getting nicked? Ta, Fro
  19. Right then, on the animal cruelty front: Not the best idea PH. However, mental health issues can distort perceptions for the affected individual - for anyone who hasn't had experience of dealing with a person who is in the midst of a mental health episode e.g. depression or mania, I'd suggest reading up on it before making idiotic comments. I'm glad you've got that side of things sorted PH but given your history, it's probably wise to limit your firepower to air weapons. What is it you do with them anyway - target stuff? Also, can you not get a loaner shotgun from the range?
  20. Nice. Have you had a look at a telemetry app like RaceChrono? Really good for lap/sector timing.

    Exhausted

    Where's Bob?
  22. ... Goes to everyone else on the road today who's driving skills disintigrated like wet bog paper when the rain started. Oh, and the speed wombles on the M25 who set the limits to change every couple of miles causing everyone to constantly speed up then brake to the next, lower limit. A simple 2 1/2 hour journey took me more than 5 hours.
  23. I guess a quick answer would be to the question: were you gaoled for a criminal activity? Other than that, have a chat with the firearms people and see what they say.

    New ride!

Another non-biased "nice bike". Like Joeman says, try to support yourself with your core rather than leaning all your weight on your wrists. Gripping the tank with your knees/thighs will help - especially when braking.
