I've noticed on some videos on enduro bikes and supermotos idling on stands, don't know what it is though.

I'm not considering buying one, personally I'd go for something with a decent engine, like the WR250X, if they don't bring out a 450 anyway. I just read about them and was wondering why.

Right now I get what what top end and bottom end is, so I guess I know what a whole engine rebuild is. But, why? And How?

Right because I read about enduro/motocross and supermoto bikes and being the bikes they are and many are competition base, I read a lot regarding top end, bottom end and whole engine rebuilds. And I still have no idea what they are and their reasoning, except your bike won't work and are an essential part of maintenance.

Following on from this thread. http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=312776#312776 I was wondering how many people would be up for it and this thread can be used to identify places we can do it, and just build up an idea of cost and what's needed,etc. Plus we need to take into account that some learners or people on restricted licenses may want to come along.
