  1. I find my smart phone invaluable for motorcycling. I check the weather pre ride, track my MPG whe I fill up, use the RealRider app which rings the emergency services on my behalf if I have an accident, it's my sat-nav, my music player and my phone. Best of all it lets me talk with you guys :-)

  2. I've a SealMate - great job for a temp fix but ultimately the seals will fail again and you'll need to do it again. Fine for a stop gap but not really a permanent repair. BTW don't expect to be able to do it as easy as the ad video shows! I can't get mine to move in the direction of the hooked edge but it works ok the other way!!

  3. Between the time taken to remove your lid and then replace it again before leaving the till, there would have been a huge queue built up. That would be my move - play their game to their rules....slowly. They'll soon stop discriminating against bikers. I'll bet they'd serve one of those Burkkas so why not a lid.

  4. What way are you trying to set it up? You shouldn't really need more gear than the kit!

Ok I've re-read your post and I get the picture. You want both to hear the same music and the sat nav directions. Perhaps you could sort out play lists and just listen to the same music on different devices on your respective headsets. As for the sat nav - you could try talking! ;-)

  5. They're full stereo and you can chat Bluetooth to Bluetooth so you can chat to pillion, another bike up to about 800m away or you can listen to music on your phone. The speakers sit in the ear pockets of your lid and the mic runs from the left speaker on a flexi stalk to the front of the helmet. The unit itself clips on the outside of the helmet. You can also pair it with a number of phones but you can only link up to one at a time.

  6. I use copilot on my iPad to plot routes and then use the phone on the bike to follow them. I get bluetoothed verbal instructions into my helmet and the display automatically changes between day and night colours. There is also an indicator bar for traffic delays looking approximately 60 miles ahead. Because the maps are downloaded onto the phone I don't need a 3G signal in order to follow a route. Can't recommend it enough.

  7. Unless you get the nipple out and bleed it properly then there'll always be air in there. And calipers on eBay? Might be the easier option to bin it and fit a second hand caliper. You really can't take chances with your brakes!!

  8. Did a few jumps a long time ago. 1st time was scary. 2nd time was worse!! After that it got easier!! In those days I was up for just about anything and I'm very glad I did it!
