  1. Hi Tango, Thanks for the replies No balancer shaft on the humble CG125 Gonna strip the clutch out and see if i can find ought wrong. Cheers, IM
  2. Hi, Yep all engine bolts are tight. Even the ones you can't easily get to. I did notice tonight that if revved with the clutch in while still rolling there is next to no vibes. Thinking it my be a clutch issue. Cheers, Shaun.
  3. Hi, My CG125 is producing high frequency vibrations through the foot rests. It's so bad that I have numb feet all day! It happens throughout the Rev range however seems less vibey at full revs. Going down gear produces lower frequency vibrations. I've checked- All bolts Valves Chain Wheel bearings Foot rests.. Even changed get the rubbers. I'm on the verge of selling it as it's now so uncomfortable to ride! It's now just an expensive vibrator lo I'm thinking main bearings. There is a rumble but not constantly. And it has been there for at least 5k. Any thoughts on what else to check? IM
  4. Hey, Managed to bash an old socket on to the rounded stud. Applied a load of heat and out came the stud Cheers, IM
  5. Hi, Just got my new exhaust fitted to the CG and was tightening the studs when one snapped This left just enough to clip more grips on. Unfortunately after trying to undo it all I was left with was rounded snapped stud. Any tips on how to get this out? I have EZ outs but I'm wary of using them and snapping one in the head! Cheers, IM
  6. Use Metzler ME22's. Cheaper and imho better. Take it easy for a 100 miles to scrub them in.....not difficult on a 125;-) Cheers IM
  7. Hi, Vauxhall Corsa 1.0L. Never seen the fascination with cars. They've always been a utilitarian mode of transport for me. The Corsas cheap to run, cheap to insure and easy to repair. It's also been incredibly reliable. Besides the usual consumables all I've ever needed to replace was a crankshaft sensor at £12 which I did myself..... The fact the car gives u the error codes on the dash without the necessary break out box helps. It's done 110k now and still going strong. IM
  8. Hey, Did this in the CB500 last week. Popped the main fuse. Replaced fuse and all was good. Not sure about your other problem. Also did it on the Corsa last year. Who makes the car negative cable red! Again no problems. Anyone for a jump start? Im
  9. Your premiums must be through the roof lol Im
  10. Hey, Google suggests an electronic tachometer. However to be sure have a look at the back of the rev counter. Is there a braided looking cable coming out of the back? If so unscrew it from the back of the clock. Inside the braided cable will be a thinner cable. With draw it and look for any breaks. The times I've had problems with electronic tacocs the battery has been the problem. So firstly give the battery a good charge and check electrolyte. If electronic theres a good chance of water ingress. Follow the wiring from the clocks back to the next connector. Carefully pull the connector apart and check for corrosion. If there's no corrosion give it a good soak in wd40 and pop the connector back together. Keep tracing the same wiring backwards till you come to the cdi unit. Cheers. IM
  11. Hi, I had this recently. When decelerating or revving in neutral the bike would clatter and sound like an out of balance washing machine.... U could feel the vibrations too! Turned out to be a loose engine mounting bolt. Tightened it up and all was good again. Cheers, IM
  12. Hey, After been laid up for 5 years I'm finally dragging the CB500 out of storage. So it's a weekend of servicing the bike for me. New filters, plugs and fluids all round. Hopefully Saturday night will be spent in the pub..... If not it's watching a film at home with some tinnies. Cheers, IM
  13. Hey, I always measure the amount of thread protruding from the adjuster with a straight edge. Then just to be sure use a tape measure from the centre of the swing arm to the centre of the rear axle bolt. Worked for the past 14 years Cheers, IM
