  1. Just spied on facebook the gut rot GOG complained of over a couple of days has now meant him going to hospital for an operation to remove his appendix  All the best mate, and I'm sure others will join me in saying get well soon, and we hope the operation went as best as could be expected. Look forward to hearing you're ok in the near future
  2. This sounds like you've been scammed. Don't give any details! Especially bank details. And if you have, change them RIGHT now.
  3. This raises more questions than I had expected.
  4. You know when you read something and your inner minds voice and it makes it hilarious? Really calmly I read "Solution", then I got carried away with the second part "SLAM THE DOOR IN EVERYONES FACE. THAT IS THE FLAVOUR OF BETRAYAL THEY HAVE CHOSEN!!!"
  5. This happens far too often as well http://youtu.be/XLUTV1IqEPc
  6. I unfortunately become a child and take the piss. Lines like: "I see why they put your name on the redundancy list now" "You finally hear the news then? Oh well, there's always more jobs out there" "I've been told you sniff peoples chairs" Have been used on serious repeat offenders. The wide eyed looks I then get make my day.
  7. People who don't say thank you or make any acknowledgement at all when you open the door for them I don't do it for any personal gain, rather built in good manners. No energy required to say "thanks" or "cheers". And the people who do it often walk around with a face like they found a sloppy turd in their pocket. f**kers.
  8. Since you were last here there have been... 1. 447 fights to do with the existence of counter steering 2. 958 discussions on the appropriate way to nod back. 3. We uncovered a shotgun toting country bumpkins animal abuse. (No! Seriously!) 4. There's been 34 discussions on who hates Christmas more. 5. One or two noobs joined and treated us like a mother who owed them dinner. But otherwise... I'm still ok
  9. You should be able to tighten the cable adjuster enough that it puts the throttle on, you just have to take all the free play out of it and then some. Is there just a control level adjuster, or does the cable have an adjuster lower down the line?
  10. There's a youtuber called Rob Dahm who's building a custom quad rotor, turbo rx7. He thinks it'll be good for 1200whp. I call bullshit on that until he proves otherwise. A lot of good builders, but most greatly exaggerate what the motor can handle! You're going to melt something at that BHP with that size of engine I think
  11. An ex lady friend of mine had a 125 with the exact problem. Turns out while it was injected, it was so simple that its idle was controlled by the throttle cable adjustment. I adjusted the cable when warm, and the bike started revving at 1500rpm idle, and 2500rpm cold which seemed right. This was an Aprilia RS4 125 though. And it was quite unlike any other 125 I've worked on. For a start, it used a magneto to charge itself up Sounds electrical, so the sensors aforementioned are a good place to go next if what I said doesn't fit your bike.
  12. They should get together and make little Flynn/petrolheads babies... There's half a chance their extreme natures would cancel each other out and the child would be a normal, intellectual person... I'm yet to see a pair of chavs achieve this however. Regardless how many times the bloke has been on crimewatch and the lass on Jeremy Kyle.
  13. Mad Fridays were amazing for people doing burnouts, wheelies, stunt riding. Dangerous, but was good to watch. But it's always the yobbos who think they can do the same as the pros that spoil it. I don't think it will close, but the police never seem to clock the yobbos will just congregate elsewhere.
  14. Woah... If he was going much faster and went into that wall, that video would be tied to his obituary. After a wobble target fixation causes what appears to be the bike just spearing off. It's why you should always ride to 80% of your ability if you can gauge it. Keeps you out of most situations like this.
  15. Probably best it was nipped in the bud. We don't need a petrolhead mark 2.
  16. Resistance would have been futile if I had gotten my hands on the chap I encountered this morning.
  17. Aha, I can say this to you and you'll understand. I saw one with a custom engine, it was rocking a quad rotor, twin turbo charged engine with NOS. 750BHP without the NOS boosting. One of the most amazing sounds I've heard from an engine.
  18. It's usually the two dash buttons "select" and "reset/adjust" held down for a few seconds. Done it plenty of times on old Hondas and I think my old SV which is a suzi.
  19. They are very good cars to own for the mechanically minded. They share a lot in common with 2-strokes in some ways. But a rebuild on a rotary often means it's good for thousands of miles (60k is a number I've heard thrown around). The RX8 is going very cheap these days. For someone who likes to get dirty hands they'd be a good project car. My mum had one at some point, I remember the 9000rpm redline. Was pretty cool. Just it went through oil very quickly. Although the cheap mineral oil from asda was tested long term and it was fine!
  20. Blue Peugeot driver that hit and run my car. He's having a squabble with a van for a spot in the queue of a slip road. The van was there first. He pushes himself up my left hand side. Then swings in to try and cut the van off. He clips the back of my bumper. At this point I'm now quite visibly shaking with anger and *really* struggling to keep my shit together. But before I can stop and get out, he speeds around us, cuts the chevron marked area and jumps into traffic to vanish. Fortunately my car was rolling forwards slowly so the impact force was very small. No apparent damage. I hop back in and try to chase the car but he's gone. And unfortunately saying to the police he was "a short black guy in a blue Peugeot" isn't enough to go on. They have bloody CCTV on that bridge and I had an exact time it happened. But as no one was hurt they weren't interested. They will be when this guy runs down a kid. Selfish ****.
  21. I've got two, one from machine mart, and another from eBay. Both holding up fine!
  22. There's a gang in my area. They've been around for longer than anyone can remember. I hear they have paedophile rings set up involving some of its highest ranking members. And just the other day, they had a recruitment drive where they said if I didn't join I would face all kinds of punishments. But enough about the church.
  23. Best: Hard to say, I got some games. Fallout 4 for the xbox one, and majoras mask on the 3DS were better than I expected. I'm not a big gamer anymore as in some ways it's worse than drinking health wise when you get too into it. I think my Makita drill and impact driver were the best of this year. But Moo got me a huge tool set from Halfords so I'm glad to say I've been spoilt enough not to know the best! Worst: This year a re-gifted Czech liquor that was old and smelt of liquorice ala corpse. Of all time my granddad passed away on Christmas day 2 years ago now. Very upsetting as my interests in space/astronomy appeared to mirror his, I also got introduced to tools, lathes, mills etc through him. On the funny side, he really didn't believe in any religion. One of the "when you're dead, you're dead" types. So it was oddly fitting he pass on the most religious day of the year for the UK
  24. Lithium/moly grease will do. Just don't use the spray on stuff, always use a tub. I believe lithium is found is most decent greases, as it acts as a base "soap" to hold the oil and additives. Alternatives include calcium and barium but they don't hold up as well. Molybdenum is an additive in higher quality greases so I'd pick up a tub of that from Halfords on the basis the bike should always get the best! Easiest little key to use is. Metal on metal: Moly grease Rubber on metal: Red rubber grease
  25. Ah Tron Legacy! I thought I was alone with my liking of that. "Flynn!! Am I still to create the perfect system?" The gif in the signature gives it away somewhat
